Pulled my RBTA off a bit too hard!!!

In the future if you need to get an BTA to detach from a rock, use an ice cube and rub it on the edge of its foot and it will slowly detach. That way you will not be pulling and injuring the anemone.

If you can pull the rock from the water at the same time it works pretty well too, just pull it out of the water and it'll drop off if you pry at it for a bit.

If you have a clown hosting it, every time you feed the fish he will take food to the anemoe, you might think you are not feeding it but she is getting food. My clown does it every time i feed the tank.

I did this a few weeks back and when I was moving rock around. I was really worried that I'd ripped his foot and he wasn't happy kept moving and shrinking, my clownfish wasn't happy then today I have had a lovely supprise I now have two happy looking nems and the clownfish thinks it's Christmas come early [emoji4]

As long as it's foot wasn't torn, give it some time and it'll open back up for you. Just know that when you put it back in the tank, it will go where it wants too:)

I agree, as long as your water conditions are stable you should expect them to repair themselves. On occasion I have used a breeder basket if the foot was to damaged to make they did not float into a power head.

How did the anemone fair? Has it started to repair itself?

@Bonfish @Salty1962 pardon my late response. It's found perfectly fine. I made a DIY container and kept it in there for a few days and it opened right up and back to normal. Thanks for the help!!

Excellent to hear, nice work with the container, glad it all worked out.
