hey the fact you found any physical changeup that will affect them, having them go lighter after a blackout, is important clue hunting for sure. the meaner strains wont go dormant after action X

killing this stuff is like solving puzzle piece by piece, and that is one. factored later, keep that detail handy. so far im thinking attack trifecta brainstorming

pending id of invader, hand clean entire tank, get large rented uv off amazon ready for battle, calculate max safe peroxide dosing (again can be done off pics to show whats in the tank) hit the -clean- tank with peroxide, uv, and another blackout. your corals will be so very happy after all of this

but we've done it and logged it a plenty, they'll be ok. just mad.

FWIW, UV is what worked for me. I have a 5W bulb in my canister filter (92 g tank) that had blown out years ago back when it was a FW tank, and when I replaced the bulb this stuff disappeared almost overnight. Yet I've heard others say that a 9W bulb (almost twice the watts as mine) is barely good enough for a 40 g tank. Go figure.

I tried to get a photo last night, to no avail. There is just a tiny trace of the stuff right now. Should I go ahead and black out again, or give it a few days to make sure it's the same stuff?
