QT and DT question

I am not a person to promote a company too hard and want to tell you that seachem stability is what I used to seed my 40 breeder Qt
It is bare bottom with one rw8 power head aimed at the surface for oxygen exchange. One HOB aqua clear 70 filter with a chunk of blue sponge in it and a 100W heater.

I dosed seachem stability at the recommended dose for 7 days and tossed my 7 fish into it at one time
I continued to dose the smaller daily dose for the next 7 days until the water got slightly cloudy from the bacteria
I only dose after a water change that is large.

Fish list
One chevron tang
One yellow scopis tang
Two blue hippo tangs
One mollie miller blenny
One green chromis
One large maroon gold stripe clown
All tangs are around 4 inches, eat like pigs and poop like cattle.

Treated for 30 days of copper with one large 20gallon water change pre treated with the right amount of copper
Never had one whimper from the alert badge reading an ammonia level

What I did was feed well but two controlled feedings a day not to create excess waste
The tank seems to have an abundance of bacteria which is good.
I have full faith in this product using it to set up a quick Qt
As I just helped a friend with a 20 long Qt and his school of yellow tangs. He is 3 weeks in and never had any amount of ammonia since and has now bought his own bottle of stability.

So if your having an issue with bacteria not seeding well maybe try some stability as it should help well.
What you should do is turn the filter off and dose the sponge and let it sit for a few minutes to help let the beneficial bacteria activate and settle into the media then turn on the filter.
Seachem stability uses bacteria that's inactive until it is used and this keeps it viable / good longer than other bacteria products that are packed with a food source for the live active bacteria strains. As the food runs out the bacteria culture can die off inside the bottle
Just a little info, food for thought.

Good luck and happy reefing
