I have a 90g mixed reef with 11 fish ATM 2 clowns, 4 disbar anthias, 1 flame angel, 1 yellow Coris, 1 hi fin goby, a flame fin and powder brown tang. Recently seen some signs of ich and do not want to lose all my fish I have never QT before and want to know for my livestock is 55 gallon breeder enough for an 8-10 week QT? Any feedback is greatly appreciated been in the hobby for about 8 months and am learning the hard way that a QT is necessary.

Thank you for your response, if I'm reading correctly your method requires two tanks. Also for QT new fish, would you have the same approach for multiple fish in your DT that you will have to remove? I don't have the space for two separate tanks unfortunately.
55 gallon tank will be fine, you could even possibly get by with a 40b.

Here is what I do as far as QT:

You will want to leave your DT fallow for a full 76 days.

Then I think you’d need to do copper for the full 30 days then. The 2nd tank helps you shorten that by getting them in a clean tank after all the free swimmers are dead.

If your fish have ich and only ich I would just treat them in copper for 30 days using one tank. After 30 days of therapeutic copper, remove the copper and treat them with (2 rounds, 5-7 days apart) Prazipro or general cure.

Awesome, thank you HotRocks! I believe it is only ich, I recently purchased the tangs about a week ago and noticed some white spots on there fins. Then about 2-3 days ago noticed the white spots on the fins were gone but the flame fin has some white spots in his belly and towards his rear. As dreadful as it sounds to undo all my rock work catch the fish and keeping all of them alive during treatment, i would hate to lose all my fish for such a simple fix. does this sound like ich or could it be stress marks?

It sounds parasitic in nature. Can you upload pics of your flame angel?

Not ATM, but I will tonight it is the Flame Fin Tomini Tang that has the spots BTW.
Got ya, sorry I missed that it was a tang. Watching this thread so once you upload photos we can take a look.

Question about the copper is seachem cupramine a good source for that?

Thanks cruz, I think that is what I will do I just hope they are okay for that long in a 55 gallon and the goby is tiny with no where to hide:/

Not with it undoing the rock work.. if it is flukes would they still have to be taken out and QT?
You can use Prazipro in a DT.

Maybe a fish trap? Put nori on a clip in the trap.

I personally wouldn't use prazi in the DT without confirming flukes are present though.

That is worth a shot I will attempt now.

So I am currently doing the FW Dip and he seems to be releasing a lot of slime from his body.. also see some white sesame seed looking specs not many though any idea what that could be or is the mucus slime normal with a FW dip?
