QT fish in DT

A heavy infestation can cause that after the dip, the flukes spasm when leaving the gills. Give him time. He should be fine. I have had several tangs lay on their side post dip for up to a couple hours.

If that bucket was 100% clean and those look like little translucent sesame seeds I would go ahead and dose the display with prazi. It's hard to me to tell for sure from the pic. It looks like about a dozen came off.

Will that hurt my corals at all? And if I dose this and they still have will that determine ich is the issue? Also how should I dose the prazi?

If you don't overdose it is DT safe. You corals may close up and slime up for a couple of days. I've never lost any coral from prazi. I do keep very little SPS so I can't speak from experience there.

Your other option is to move all fish from the DT to QT and treat in QT. Allow DT to be fishless for 6 weeks to erradicate flukes. If it is ich then 76 days.

He seems to not be able to breathe I put this back in display at 5 minutes and he doesn't seem to be doing to hot

I have had a fish with a heavy load of fluids die within about an hour of doing a 5 min FW dip. I assume that it had enough that when they dropped off the gills there was too much damage caused for the fish to absorb O2 through the gills. Hopefully that’s not the case with yours.

Honestly though, with the fish you have, the chances of ich not being in your system with no QT is pretty slim. The anthias, angel, and especially the tangs are pretty prone to it.

Is it a full reef or a FOWLR? Some would advise against it but I’ve had pretty good luck running hypo on my display. I found it easier to pull the inverts into a new tank than the fish. The only thing I did was vacuum my shallow sandbed because all the worms do die off.

Thank you for your help! I will try the prazi in the DT if that fails I will set up the QT.

How long did you hypo? And did you remove corals as well?

I did 45 days. You have to remove all inverts.
Thanks for the advice I think I am going to just remove all of the fish and QT they are all now not looking good not sure if it's stress from me messing around in there but I don't want to lose any more fish I want to run it completely in my tank

I'm sorry to hear about your losses.

Are you sure it's flukes you are dealing with?
