Question about Phosphate PPB levels with Hanna HI736 meter

How about if I write it this way to make it clear what all equals what:

1 ppb phosphorus = 3 ppb phosphate = 0.001 ppm phosphorus = 0.003 ppm phosphate
10 ppb phosphorus = 30 ppb phosphate = 0.01 ppm phosphorus = 0.03 ppm phosphate
33 ppb phosphorus = 100 ppb phosphate = 0.033 ppm phosphorus = 0.01 ppm phosphate

All i wanted was a few simple numbers to use as a guide for the ulr phosphorus meter. I guess i asked in the wrong forum. My mistake. But you did make my point about how everyone is using some different version of understanding for hobby grade test. It doesn't need to be that techical or complex...does it? Still that is not what the Hanna chart shows. I am not a chemist so i am just using what they provide. Looks like i was correct either way.

What is the issue?

There is no exact right value for phosphate. Great tanks range from 0.02 ppm to 1.2 ppm phosphate. That is, about 6 ppb phosphorus to 400 ppb phosphorus.

My typical recommendation is 0.02 to 0.1 ppm phosphate. That is about 6 ppb phosphorus to 33 ppb phosphorus.

That is what i was asking just what the average typical recommendation was. I guess i was not wording things right. I do that when writing. I went back and reread the entire thread and it now makes more sense.
