After you dip rinse it. Then rinse it again. And then rinse it again. Then finally you can rinse it again. After that rinse it two more times.

You do not want even a trace of this stuff to get into the tank. Just ask my shrimp, pods and most of my bristleworms. Oddly enough it didn't seem to have much of an effect on my starfish other than making them float around a little bit. Snails, hermits and fish didn't seem to notice either.

Will it kill aptasia?

From my understanding this insecticide attacks the central nervous system. Anything with a nervous system can and will be effected. The corals aren't effected at all because they don't have a nervous system. The same should go for the anemones.

As far as amount and time I have read testimonials that were anywhere from 3ml per 8oz-15ml per 8oz. And also 5-30 minutes.

There may be other factors with why people have lost corals when using this for a dip. I have not read anything about the effects on Ph, salinity or alkalinity. Any of these can swing during the dip and cause a loss. Now I have interested myself into finding out what exactly changes with the water chemistry with this dip.

I myself have lost a couple sps after I dipped. But I believe the reason for that was a spike in nitrate caused by all of my pods as well as lots of other things dying in my tank. I dipped, rinsed 3 times and put them back into the tank. Everything had frag plugs or rock bases from being maricultured. I assume the plugs and rock bases held onto some of the insecticide and it leached back out. This is why I mentioned rinse rinse rinse rinse....

We have a shallow well on our property where we get our drinking water. I have reservations about dumping the old dip. We are also on a lake and have similar concerns about where it goes once it enters the ground wether it's via a fire ant colony or the septic field. If this becomes my primary dip, there will be a lot that needs to be disposed of. I wonder if bleach would be helpful to break down anything that could linger and become harmful.

You can spray it around your yard and it will keep bugs away. From what I understand about this product is that light and flow neutralize it. Maybe put the bucket on your porch in direct sunlight with a powerhead inside for a few days.
