quick question ?

I'm so excited. I thought it would take days before I could get everything going in my new tank. But I could have it done by tomorrow! Thanks to everyone for their help.

So this the planadd new water to
Set new tank up
Put new sand in. A cup or 2 of old sand
Put as much old water add new water as needed. Put old liverock in(after washing) put corals and fish...and I'm done! And all is bueno.
I would just make one change to your plan......Add the amount of new water to tank that you want,...say 50% ...then top off with the old, since you never know the exact amount you will need to top off after all rock and sand is in....

Good advice here. I don't add old tank water at all when I change systems. But you can add old tank water, but keep it at less than 50% of your total water volume.

I put new sand and water today. Waiting for water to clear up a little before I transfer rock, corals and fish. I bought a bottle of Dr. Tim one and only. Should I put it in now, later or not at all?
