R2R vs Other forums (Rant)

Love Ball Pythons and have always wanted one but the gf is terrified of snakes so its a no go :( (on a side note you should start a thread in the lounge to show off your snakes!) Anyways, I am so glad that you find R2R to be such a welcoming place! We try our best!

I agree, I too have lots of miles on me from other forums. I am just as passionate about cars as I am fish, and I don’t frequent any of these forums for many of those reasons. Also, I feel like I can help more people here than anywhere else. But I chose this place for the same reasons.

Thanks for the kind words op, and everyone. I consider this forum and the admin family, so it’s appreciated!

I watched Tanked 2 weeks ago and Tanked featured Dwight Howard and Dwight's snake build. Pretty cool to see.

I can personally say in my opinion R2R is the Nicest, less judging, non critisizing forum there is. I have tried many many forums for all of my pets (dogs, ball pythons, salt water fish and coral). Out of all the forums i have came across Reef2Reef is the most caring. I havent gotten critisised on here for my silly questions...or random post.. Everyone is nice and respectful. They dont judge if you dont know anything about the new fish you just bought....

For example.

I adopted a ball python, the owner couldnt have him and needed to rehome him. So i took him in. I knew nothing about this morph of python. So i did what any rational person would do...i researched. When my research came up empty handed i reached out to a ball python morph forum... My question was along the lines of what anyone would ask on here... What kind of snake is it? Instantly i was bashed with rude comments like "why would anyone in their right mind purchase an expensive animal without knowing anything on it". "Why would u take a snake when u know nothing on them". Ect.. The comments kept coming. It was like they were feeding off eachothers negative energy.. I have had many ball pythons... I know how to handle them and take care of them and breed them.. I just dont know how to identify a morph... ( a certian color and pattern variation) ...

Im happy and very thankful for Reef2Reef... Its supportive...helpful...addictive...the sponsors are great.. Everything is spot on.

I guess i just wanted to let Reef2Reef know how greatful i am to have such a helping community.

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH Reef2Reef!!!

Just for laughs heres a pic of the snake that caused this whole rant and the realisation of niceness and meanness

I feel the same way about this forum. Fantastic group of people here! So glad I don't visit the other reef forum anymore. It's kinda depressing over there.

I also have a ball python. Just a normal morph. She turns 29 years old this year!

29 years, that's impressive. They are amazing for sure, well done.

My son has been researching Ball Pythons and their Morphs for about a year now. He just recently set up a habitat and is currently building a breeding station for mice so he can grow his own food. He has become very knowledgeable on the subject.

So, I sent him the photo and asked him what he thought. He thinks it is a Bumble Bee Hypo Mojave, and he sent me this to back up his thought..

R2R is the nicest and most positive forum. I used to go on a different forum and try to get people to help me with simple corals such as Yellow Finger Gorgonians and instead of helping me they just told me it's impossible to keep :/ R2R has some people that have the same interest as me (ex: Crinoids and NPS corals) thats why I love this forum the most :)

Dude said its a " vanilla bee ghost." Then switched to " vanilla spider ghost" idk... He worked at a zoo so he should have known. I mean come on he sleeps with a chimpanzee! Lol

@DSC reef

No matter what he is i will still love him... Lol my roomate decided to buy a snake now. Guess i gave him snake fever... The thing is he knows nothing the poor little mojave ... He also wants to buy some coral from me...NO NO NO. I have named the new baby baby (personally too tiny to be a pet yet) ophelia. ×after a song i like× i have named my roomates new snake for the simplicity that i know hes gonna abandon it. My luck this week is very slithery...

Quick question : what snails should i use in my 16g for a reaccuring diatom bloom??
