Radion leds with acros?

So I'm running two radion xr30s and have been running on radiant color for some time. And recent got into a couple of acros and was wandering if I need to switch to high growth setting?

Well there are some factors coming in. Radion dare powerful lights some times to intense. So depending on the percentage you are running , your tank depth and how high your rock is stacked. What I did was place high in my tank and then depending on how it did I either moved it down or turned the lights up some. I'm running SPS LPS and soft in y reef with the XR15 G4 and I'm running the coral colors SPS PHX14 settings turned up a little.

It totally depends on how close the acros are to your lights. No one can really give you the right answer. Plus some acros can be smashed with light while others will fry under the same light. You need to learn to read your corals, and look up specifics about placement for each acro species you choose.

So your side slide shows 100% does that mean your are 100%? I'm running mine at 65% and have a 72gal bow front. At moment they are on drag rack at top.

Ya so that's what's kind of confusing. So there is the percentage that particular program you selected allows and what the Radion total output is.

Yeah I get confused about setting it up at times. Mine shows 70% but at the hight of the day only 54%!

Ok ya the cellphone app is great but you can't fine tune your radions output. Go on your computer and got to Ecosmartlive.com and use the same log on as you do your phone app and you can change and edit soooo much more of the reef programs

And personally I changed mine to where it started out a slightly higher percentaged and dropped a little bit through out the day so my SPS got some bright light but my LPS and Zoas didn't fry.
You can adjust your programs brightness by clicking and holding the blue max point and dragging it up to your desired out put. And when you nous over the blue dot you will see the radions true out put and on the left you will see what your programs out put is.

Well the program is at 100% but my lights are running at 74%

If I change to 100% the intensity changes to 73%.

Well for SPS PHX14 if I remember right it was still at about 60% so that's why I upped mine and bright it up to 74%

The way it works from my understanding is:

To get the light running at 100% every channel must be on 100% within the programme, and the overall intensity must be on 100%

Example 1:

Overall intensity set to 100%

Blue channel set to 100% within the programme
White channel set to 75% within the programme

This means that blues are running at 100% of 100% overall (100%), but whites are only running at 75% of 100% overall (75%)

Example 2:

Overall intensity set to 50%

Blue channel set to 100% within the programme
White channel set to 75% within the programme

This means that blues are running at 100% of 50% overall (50%), but whites are only running at 75% of 50% overall (37.5%) - therefore a much lower percentage is shown

And then being careful to acclimate accordingly but once you find that sweet spot you are good just always that in between period. So what I recommend is trying out some pre made settings and the one that works best for ya and fine tune it on the computer to maximize the results.

Awesome thanks! Yeah I'm going to start with the radiant Coral and tweak it. I've always heard to run more blues than white to combat algae and burning up Coral.
