Radion lights randomly doing their own thing. Is there a Fix??

I think that the issue stems from all the previous major firmware updates and for whatever reason the devices ability to get a clean version of the latest update.

Factory resetting ensures that you're wiping the slate clean and removing most variables that might cause an update issue.

Serial numbers corrupted? What does that even mean?
Sometimes the numbers inside the mobius app don't match the physical number on the lights sticker. If that's the case then it can indicate something isn't right.

So... after having the MXM for a while now not too bad but needs some work yet to match features in Mobius when it works. The main benefit to MXM is that it sends constant updates to the lights unlike Mobius. Benefit there being so far I have not seen any out of sync or other strange doing their own thing behavior. The one feature missing from MXM is actual lunar cycles. Apex sets up separate devices, that can be grouped like the lights, for lunar but pretty much just adjustable on/off/intensity/spectrum schedules just like for the Radions. Really hope they add that soon.

I've had lot of the problems mentioned above with my 3 Radions. Current issues are that 1. They automatically go to 100% lighting. If I set it to 60%, within minutes they're all back up to 100%, even though on app it still shows 60%. Very annoying. 2. One starts beeping randomly as if someone's pressing buttons.

What generation?
I think gen 5. Btw funny enough, after I posted this, my girlfriend came in this morning while I was in bed to tell me all the lights were blinking like strobe lights. Wonderful, another issue. When I got up just one was blinking, I turned off and on still blinking, I turn off for 30 minutes then turned off, now ok.

For $1500 lights, this is ridiculous. I paid I think $4500 + tax for the three?

Should I try another app besides Mobius? Someone said Ecotech might cut off non Mobius apps? What’s a good app to try that preferably works with mp40s too? I can’t even get my 2nd mp40 to register with Mobius after I bought new controller for it (old one got water inside)

Not cheap at around $200 but I run a reef link and control 8 devices including gen4 radions using ecosmart live in a web browser on pc. Everything has run flawless for years. I refuse to by any new ecotech stuff because I won't use Mobius.
Maybe look for a used one?

EDIT : I run 3 gen 4 xr15, 3 mp40 and 2 mp10

Thanks. Kind of sucks to have to buy another piece of gear for lights that should work as intended :(

What do you mean by turning them off? Did you push a button? Or did you remove it from power by unplugging it (power cycled)?

If you power cycled it and it's still happening, I'd first suspect that the software is missing something. First make sure there aren't any new updates for those lights in mobius if there is, get them to the current firmware. When is the last time you went into mobius and ran a diagnostic?

SETTINGS > TROUBLESHOOTING > VERIFY SETTINGS

If it's been some time, run that and see if anything needs to be corrected. If that doesn't produce fruit, I personally would reset to factory settings (using the physical buttons on the lights) and reprogram them.

I don't think you need a reef link or a mxm unless you wanted to get one.

Most of the people that were experiencing your issues were able to solve it through mobius.

They’re plugged into a power strip, I turn off the power button for that individual plug. My power strips have individual power buttons for every outlet. I can try fully unplugging and factory reset, but I think last I tried manual factory reset, I couldn’t because the buttons aren’t working. I’ll try tomorrow.

Any news? Flipping the switch for power is the same as unplugging it. They say 30 seconds is plenty of time for it to cycle.

Factory reset might be in the cards,

Steps:
1. Press and hold the center button until all buttons flash red, white, and blue then release.
2. Press and hold all 3 buttons until the buttons flash red and purple then release.
3. Press and hold the outer 2 buttons until the Radion resets then release.

Although I would ensure that VERIFY SETTINGS are correct before resorting to a complete factory reset.

Also it might be wise to ensure that your radions are running on the correct time

SETTINGS > TIME AND DATE

If it's wrong, click on SET TO CURRENT TIME to correct it.

Thanks for trying to help.

I made sure time is correct. It was.

I did Verify Settings when I first saw this post and it showed no errors I thought, but today I tried again and get one light with no errors, one with one error - calibration, and one full errors every category. Next to schedule it says dirty.

I cannot do factory reset with buttons on the light that seems to be causing the most issues. Holding buttons does nothing. I think buttons may be broken, which makes sense since it randomly starts beeping as if I'm pushing buttons. I'd actually like to disable buttons if they're broken to stop that annoying beeping. I took that light apart and it's very clean inside. I couldn't get past the lens or fan layers because they use a smaller star screw than the one I have. Is there a way to factory reset without using buttons?

Remind me what generation light are these?

In mobius, there is an option to disable the buttons. Perhaps they already are... but the beeping suggest that they aren't. Worth checking
