It's probably rated by how they purchase it.

A-lot of wholesalers do classifications like, substandard, standard, ultra.
Substandard could be a brown chalice, standard could be a green chalice, ultra could be a green chalice with red eyes or watermelon.
You never know, they may just be claiming what the wholesalers are and not making up 'ultra' on their own.

Sounds pretty good. Vendors are just applying the "grade" they got from when they purchased it from wholesalers.

See there's usually a decent explanation behind these subjects :)

Maybe the person selling all the ultra brown corals on a forum was really a vendor in disguise that we need to have a talk with! hahaha

I will say that most vendors here on R2R sell rainbow coral that are actually something I'd consider a "rainbow" to be. Most of their "ultra" coral are actually really nice pieces. Unfortunately, not every vendor is true to this.

i owuld love to post you the thread I am talking about but it is on one of my local forums sites and I dont want any trouble or attention brought to them, just saying. Said Ultra acan that is red turning a clear pink, is not healthy and in my opinion not ultra at all!

Ding Ding Ding!! Thats 100% correct. For example, when importing or purchasing from a collector overseas a Rainbow Acan consist of 3 or more different colors. Therefore, if someone is to blame it those collecting the coral from the ocean, they set the standard for whats considered as Rainbow.
