Why do fish swim together? I find it interesting that my fish often swim in a group. One or two do their own but they seem to generally stay in the same area together. Why is that? Mixture of tangs and triggers
 
I agree it's because of safety in numbers. It's kinda like if I were to go hiking with my wife. If we were attacked by a bear I can outrun my wife and then I'd be safe.
It's really interesting to see the nature videos that show a huge "ball" of fish with them trying to get to the middle so they're safe from predation.

Interesting considering I’m pretty sure they are my diamond goby last Friday… smh
