Randy I could kiss ya!!

Stability is a good thing in an SPS tank, of course. What I'm getting at, though, is that there's a point at which more frequent additions doesn't make much difference. One could, for example, use a positive displacement piston pump to dose additives on a continuous basis. But that's not necessary, and the pump would be expensive and loud.

As Kris notes, there's no reason why you can't dilute your stock solutions if you choose; the only limitation to how far you could go with that is that you stay under your evaporation rate.
From an Alk perspective I get that but what about a pH perspective? Say for example, I have low pH. If I dose small amounts it would logically keep the pH steady instead of a dose that is just a bit larger but spaced further apart that affords a drop in pH. I'm still trying to work out dosing times just to get the Alk to be relatively smooth instead of the sequential rise and fall.

I tried Pickling lime which is the base of it and PH went from 7.66 to 7.87. Already liking it but am going to take it SLOW with adding

I was doing that before in my ATO but it adds Alk and Calc so you have to factor that in while dosing 2 part. With Randy's new recipe you get the Pickling Lime/Kalkwasser pH benefit but with your normal dosing routine.

Wheeewweeee. I'd been looking for something like this for forever, but I must of missed Randys post. This is fantastic. I've got a low ph, and really want the benefits of a boosted ph but don't want to try and dose kalkwasser and two part at the same time. Now I know what I'll be doing. Thanks Randy and Saint!!

I don't know. It may have been partly sodium bicarbonate, which is weaker per volume and weight.
Aaah Randy. Quick question. I'm dosing 20ml now just to try to keep my Alk up. That's from 14ml. Is this precipitation? I'm not seeing any on anything really, only the little blobs of what was said might be a magnesium byproduct for a little while where the NaOH hits the water. Stuff is growing but seriously, I'm dropping Alk even when dosing 20ml. Testing is repeatable.

Is this right? Am I missing something? Dosing so much more with just a few Montis and LPS?
