So I was taking a look at a thread about the "next highly anticipated piece of reef equipment", and it got me thinking. I for one do NOT see existing reef equipment being a limiting factor to having a gorgeous tank. Basic thinks like water changes once a month and a skimmer can take you a pretty long way.

So it made me curious....

On a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being an incredibly gorgeous tank with little room for improvement, where do you think your tank lies?

Please post a photo, your rating, and what you believe is the limiting factor!

I went with a 6. It's not great as I have alot of stuff I want to change and add. I will however try to edit in an updated picture tonight.

Very nice-- looking forward to the updated photo.

My next question, of course, is what you think is preventing it from being higher up on the scale. Equipment? Your time available? Your experience? etc

Livestock. I currently have a bunch of stuff at a friends house going through quarantine and growing out. ALOT of sticks :D
And I would say Equipment, because who doesn't always want a bigger tank amirite ;)

You know.... size isn't EVERYTHING

Very cool re: sticks. Might need to make the rockscape higher to fit those!

I’ll go with a humble 7.

I think I’ve accomplished a lot in 30 G of water over the years through a complete crash from a hurricane to building back a beautiful reef IMO.

Lots of sps for a nano and def a mixed reef 72 pieces of corals here believe it or not.

A lot of doubles is a negative

I really want an apex but I can’t justify it on a 30G cube no matter how much I’ve invested.

I want a bigger tank but I love my baby but the stand looks bad and I’m not that convinced I can build a new one my self and waiting on a quote for a custom one but I think at that point I could get something new but....

It’s a beautiful little thing and I love it.

Lights are out on my 45 right now, I’m not to happy with this one. Rate it a 5 Because of growth and progress.

6 gallon, lights are just about to go out. I’m pretty happy with this one. Rate this a 7, will be better when it grows in. Only 2 months old.

Lights just came on for the 14, it’s on a reverse schedule. Really happy with this one. 8 on this one. Might change out the elegance.

Giving mine a 7 right now as this tank is only 5 weeks young.

Sitting at a 3 while I stock up (tank is 2 months old). Should change fairly fast as everything in the tank is growing quickly. Need to take care of the cyano though and plan to build an ATS this week which should help. Also, my wife is out of town so it's not bring overfed this week.

Nice all, I just moved/combined my 150g due to a cracked center brace, with a used running 210g I purchased, so just barely settling in. 210 was a mixed softy and my 150 sps dominant. Also added a AL hybrid. I'll try to figure out how to post pics this week!
Crabby, what is the blue stag just right of center?
