How can I help him? It's definitely low on zooxanthellae. But other than that it looks happy.
Other than lighting, low nutrients (nitrate, phosphate) will cause nems and corals to bleach.
I bought him from someone who was moving to a new house and setting up a newer bigger tank. He was shrunk up when I got him because they just took him off the rock he was attached to but his colors did seem a little brighter. I am currently feeding half a shinner (or whatever those small fish r called) once a week. Idk if I should feed him the other half twice a week?Depends...is he a recent purchase? Was he that color when u got him?
Most likely your lights are better than he was in and hes acclimating...small frequent feedings with good water quality and he should recover nicely.
He is also about a week old in my tankI bought him from someone who was moving to a new house and setting up a newer bigger tank. The guy I got him from said that's what he used to feed them and they grew and split alot. If u say smaller foods should I give him like half a cube of frozen mysis? I tried a piece of shrimp from a store once but didn't like it to muchNems dont much care for silversides...try mysis, reef roids, and other small foods.
And he wont necessarily move if too much light he might just expell the zooanthelane within him while he adjusts.
OkI'd just feed the tank. You might stress him more while he's adjusting.
No. Give him time. He'll move where he needs to be if light is the issue. Post your parameters just to see if something needs tweaked.Ok
He isn't in terrible shape though right?
Ok thx will post them on the morning in bed nowNo. Give him time. He'll move where he needs to be if light is the issue. Post your parameters just to see if something needs tweaked.

Good point also!I would be worried that his foot might have been ripped when he was pulled off the rock you got him from. If this is the case, that could definitely be playing a role in his loss of color.
I don't know how he was taken off but it was done by a professional and not the tank owner. I am not to worried about that because when u look at his foot it seems perfectly normal and is very firmly attached. Of course u guys r the professionals though and ik most people say there isn't a way to get them off a rock.I would be worried that his foot might have been ripped when he was pulled off the rock you got him from. If this is the case, that could definitely be playing a role in his loss of color.
