I have ich again.. finally decided to dose the 65 with Cupramine. I have basicly 2 qt.. thanks to a very knowledgeable guy I think the fish will survive...

Was your Ich introduced by a recently purchased Kole tang?

I also introduced Ich by purchasing a Kole Tang from the same source. From what I have read there are different strains of Ich and I (we) have the bad one. Ich is in the water column, rock, and substrate and nothing but 72 days fallow will get rid of it. Sorry. [emoji17]

Im not reusing anything.. already treated it all. Its my fault for not using a qt.. but it is so frustrating.

I have dealt with ich on 3 different occasions and I still don't quarantine. But for my next build I will certainly not add a fish without going through a full treatment in QT!

Its easy to get discouraged when this hobby that's supposed to be fun turns to so much stress. We've all been there. It just makes it more satisfying when you overcome it.

I know.. but I learned alot about setting up and maintaining a qt. So im no expert but I did learn more than I made a mistake..

I know how you feel. I had my tank setup for a few months, with everything growing perfectly. I decided to pick up a... you guessed it, Kole Tang and it wrecked every fish but one. Dont give up. Do things right, no short cuts. If you cant afford something, wait till you can. Every time I take shortcuts, I get bitten.
After the wipeout, I reviewed my options and decided to do things the right way. I gave away the one surviving fish and went fallow for 72 days. The first fish after going fallow was a tang - which died right away. It didnt LOOK like it had ich so I had no idea what killed it. Frustrated, I waited another few weeks before getting another shipment from a reliable source. This time, everything worked as expected and my tank is better than ever - ich free!
I will not trust anything from this point forward. I'm going to get another tang eventually but only after it's been QT'd.

I knew better.. after a week I thought I got lucky. Then Christmas day he got bad spots.. but its all a lesson learned.. I still have two good tanks... so I dont guess ill ever give it up totally..
