Tank is causing headaches! All corals started off great and majority of them just go down hill all the time.
I had two lots of acans, placed in the same spot and one lot are doing great and the others have died.
Corals get dipped before being placed in the tank also and keep the recommended parameters. Only corals that seem to do well is torches.

10% weekly water changes

Lost a royal dotty back few weeks ago and now lost a firetail goby today with no signs of illness the day before.

Other fish now in the tank are 2 clowns, sleeper goby and blue tang.

Any advice on what to do?

Take a step back, I know it can be frustrating sometimes

Post some pictures, yes your parameters and a bit more about your system and lets see if we can get your turned around

How old is the tank?

This is a hobby of patience and is opposite of the current pace of the USA of "gotta have it now!"

I didn't put any coral over $30 until.my tank was over a year old.

It take a year for trace chemical reactions to establish themself.

If you rush corals into your tank under a year, you might as well go driving on the interstate and throw a $20 bill out the window every 30secs. Lol...but true!

Need to check mag
Salinity 1.025
Phos 0.25 ( is that high)

Will try get some pics later when lights are on

Can you provide us with some pictures? Parameters, lighting, equipment list ect.. don't worry well help you get it figured out :)
Parameters and some equipment posted above. Lighting is standard aquaone lights that came with tank, only have softies and lps corals in there

Is it led or t5 light that came with the tank.

I used to lose a lot of fish from lack of QT/poor QT, what do you do for QT/acclimation?
What kind of dips do you do and how long?
Do you know the salinity of your LFS?

The lights that come with the aqueon tanks (from what I remember of my petsmart days) are more geared towards freshwater with alot of white lights and only a couple blues to see your fish and fake decorations. Might be part of the issue and a good place to start :)

Wish I had read this about 2 years ago. Lol I did not grasp the "go slow" as well as I should have. This is great!

I spoke with aquaone about lighting and they said the lights are designed for saltwater but are not strong enough for sps but fine for softies and lps.
Use a refractometre for salinity.
The fish that are dying have been in tank since just after cycling
When you get pictures of your setup, I'd like to see the light as well please :)

Yeah sure. It has just basic white and blue so it isnt amazing

Lights would not cause a loss of fish. If it was up a year or so, I would wonder if anything has changed recently. Perhaps I would start with your water source (is it RO/DI for example). Just trying to eliminate all variables. Perhaps an ICP or Triton water test would be useful?

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
