I never said it was that easy - I was making a general comment. And the numbers weren't meant to be actual numbers - but rather just illustrations. I also mentioned that there was no reason to check both Phosphate and phosphorous - (becasue they are related by a calculation).
My only point was to say that you can't just do a test with one Reagent and if its the same that proves you can use either one interchangeably (this was in one of the links provided).
For example if the real concentration of a chemical - lets call it 'X' is '1 ppm' in a tank. You may get '1' whether you use either reagent. If the concentration of 'X' is 0.01 or 10 ppm, using either Reagent may not give the same result.

I have always thought they were the same . And just a few more zeros to the number .
Which I was wrong ....
But having both reagents , one being lr phosphates .
I might try it , with expectations of a inaccurate or completely off result .
