  • Yes, I totally and completely relate!

  • I kind of relate.

  • No, I am in utter control when I visit a LFS but I also am slightly delusional.

  • I have no idea what this this problem is nd, if you do, I ink you should seek out professional help.

In appreciation for receiving an "Addict" trophy today;

Hi... I'm Chris and I have a problem.

Can you relate?

Hahaha!!!! So much!! I think, oh. I’ll run over super fast... an hour later I’m still looking and haven’t even gotten to what I went for.

So.....YEH.....to all of the above. I suggest group therapy (frag swap) and role playing (walking around WWC pretending you could afford one of everything) as mandatory treatment.
But on the other hand......
1) I don't play golf. Thousands of dollars in clubs, bags, shoes, green fees, cart rentals and club memberships.
2) I don't build hot rods. Car, shop, tools, parts, body work and paint jobs.
3) I don't own a boat. Hole in the water into which you pour money you never see again. (Have friends that have boats that say they wish they had gotten an aquarium instead.)
......and on and on.
As it goes I think we all can agree it's a pretty sweet problem to have. A great learning experience requiring study and a concerted effort to be successful. A beautiful end product you can be extremely proud of. My wife actually encourages it in that she knows where I am and gets to enjoy our tank too (looking, no tank diving). And an opportunity to share our successes and failures with other aquarists like our fellow Reef2Reefers who will understand.

Hi Chris, I'm Perry and I have a problem too. Ain't it great!!!;Happy

@Bleigh - very common delusional thinking and experience for a reefer!

@Nep2nRev1 - Hi Perry, yes, it's one of the times that having a problem is not necessarily a bad thing!

My gf won't let me go to any fish store without showing her the money I'm spending.. And if its a big one like that fish place in Lancaster she won't let me go without her supervision.. I don't know what it is about fish stuff but it messes with your head :p

Oh I love me that place! Think next weekend I may go. Wow, wifey is pretty understanding. I will not screw with her shoe habit if she leaves my fish habit alone.

You just had to bring up "shoe habit!" ;)

"You are absolutely correct, I do not need another green stick, but do you really need 4 pairs of black knee boots? I mean we do not even have a horse to ride that those would not even be remotely useful for..."

Hi I’m Chris as well and my problems not my LFS
It’s the on line vendors, my husband has started getting up VERY EARLY so he can delete any emails I get notifying me the Aquarium Depot has just received hundreds of new corals, one among many vendors I shop from, lucky for me he forgets to delete them from the trash folder:D.

Hail to us Reefahholics!!! :D:D

Yep, that’s me so much my buddy just sits in the car, but I’ve taken him to every shop

My problem is I have several addictive hobbies:

1...aquariums
2...pond
3...woodworking
4...3d printing
5...fishing
7... LEDs (not just for aquariums)

I think I work a job to eat and pay for my hobbies. LOL!

fishing is for your health sir, and should not be listed under hobbies. That is a medical necessity to help alleviate stress and anxiety, and get some exercise and breath good fresh air. Pretty sure insurance should cover part of the expense. Wonder if I can make that happen for my next fishing trip in May.

Have you heard of the phrase "insurance fraud"? ;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious
