really small sump help

i have a 55 gallon corner tank im gona set up. thanks to this site ive figured out most my issues one is led lights i think i likeMaxspect Razor R420R LED Light Fixture and hope it works if not ill pick out a diffrent one.
But my new question is how can i make a super small sump can i buy one one id rather dyi it. Maby out of a plastic contaner or nano tank cube or something.
My only space under the stand is 15 long 12 wide and 28 high.
What are my options please help lol

You could do a rubbermaid tub. Anything food grade will work. Or a Bucket ? Nomater what you do make shure if you shut off your flow( powergoes out) that it wont overfill your sump.

I made one by cementing panes of acrylic I had gotten from a garage sale. Mine measures 14x9x9.....it is only large enough for a nano skimmer and the return pump section. Which is perfect for my nano 16 gal.

ya i figured some sort of container or a small nano tank, i could make it taller and get a skimmer and heater in it, but i would still have to build baffles in the middle 2 diffuse bubbles right,bhow should i make that in bucket

lol i wont have enough money to leave my house after this plus my other projects, figured if i use a container i can get one thats higer then i need i understand how to break syphon from tank to sump but what about sump pump to tank

You need an overflow that doesn't lose siphon. When the pump kicks back on the siphon continues to drain tank.

but what if the siphon breaks and the pump keeps running, and drill my tank where, ahhh boy after i figure this i will have a solid starting grip

Drilling the tank, if the pumps keeps running, doens't matter. A drilled tank can't lose siphon.

The dollar a gallon tank sale is going on now, i mean 20 bucks for a 20 Gallon sump or 10 for a 10 is about as good as it gets, thats what i ran with my 55 a 20.

ah boy not sure about drillin tank makes me nervous but maby i will, how do i build baffle walls ina plastic container then

thanks i checked it out, i herd people talk against plastic saying small containers that size arnt heavy enough and get brittle under saltwater. I will do that or nano tank that will fit in if i do and... use filter socks instead of a baffles if not enough room? doest that work

Yea you can use filer socks. Just gotta make sure you keep em clean. I use a Walmart Xmas Tree Storage container as my sump, no baffles.

cool ill check out strong containers or nano tanks that may fit, going sumpless and hob skimmers and stuff is not a smart way is it
