Recommendations on DC pumps not controlled by outside controller.

Couple years. Haven't had to service it yet. I have the SDC 9.0 in a basement sump pumping up a floor and about 8 feet over to 8 outputs running at 85%. It's WiFi. Here's some info on the pump, app and controller:

Same pump running 4 years now. Cleaned it 2x and, well, nothing to really clean. Runs like day 1

Current USA DC pumps are great. Very quiet and cheap. They use a knob controller. I use one on my tank.
Beat me to it... great pumps. I have 3 that have been running since 2017ish

I am done with things that have to have my phone to be controlled. Looking to replace Vectras.
I don't understand the reference to the phone and Vectras.
I use Vectra pumps.
I plug them in, turn the dial to the speed I want. Then I leave it alone.
If you just want to get away from ECT's products, then that's another issue, IMO.

Looking for another DC pump? Look at the Red Dragons.
I use a 100 watt for my return and a 150 watt for the closed loop on my 240.

Jebao all the way, ebay them. basement return pump over 5 years old, still running strong 45watts

have a baby jebao on my calcium reactor close to 5 years

dont need a warranty, you will probably calcify the shaft and bearings if you do anything, long before the pump fails.

So you are OK with a small control box?

If so, I am now using 6 total Simplicity DC pumps on some of my systems. They are a tad higher in price vs a comparable Jebao, but have US based support and a 3 year warranty.

Oldest is 6 years at this point and still chugging along just fine. (Just had to go and say that lol).

In regards to their support, it is lifetime and they have been good to me so far. Was cleaning my 1600 I have on my frag tank, dropped the impeller while walking, stepped on it and broke it. Called them to order a replacement and they just sent me one for free. It was snail mail, but I am not complaining.
I don't mean to hijack the OP's thread, but quick question on the Simplicity pump. With the electronic keypad type controller on this pump, what happens after a power failure? Does it remember its setting? Or does it default to the highest or lowest setting?

It remembers the setting it was at. It also does not just turn on at that setting, but ramps up to that setting slowly. Same thing with ramp up when feed mode is complete.

Thank you! Currently debating between the Simplicity and the Current USA to replace one of my MAG7 return pumps that frequently has trouble restarting after being shut off. Both seem like good economical choices.

That is what I put on my system too. 20,000 liter biggest one whey sell. (Amazon for me) So far its been great. Super silent. Cant even tell its running. Mine runs through 30ft of pipe up from basement to first level and works great.

I was going to suggest a tunze but it looks like the simplicity pumps are 1/2 price if not less.

I'll just add that the Current USA pumps also remember their setting after a power outage / restart and have a slow soft start ramp up.
Both are great options.

Not to totally highjack the thread, but another return pump question. I have a mystery AC return pump that hates starting up after a power outage. Is it worth switching to DC?

It may just need to be cleaned. Maybe it has some precipitate built up on the impeller. Just a thought.

It's pushing 7 years cleaned about a month ago. Before I knew better I was cleaning it with vinegar

Same for jebao, no issues and they slowly spin up
