Been using this stuff for a month now. I have noticed increased growth and color. Along with more stable parameters. Any one else had good results with this salt

I like it. It dissolves quickly and my corals seem to like it. Also like that it comes in a reasonable sized pail. Hate the inconvenient bags/boxes that invariably must be decanted into a sealable container so that they don't turn into a solid brick from ambient humidity, and I don't like having to store or move a giant bucket. I know, it is a small issue, but to me it is a nice feature.

The only minor issue is that the first few weeks I used it I accidentally spiked my Mg to about 1475 because it is so much higher in major minerals than any of the other salts I've used (Mixed to 1.025 the Mg is about 1400.) My tank ate up the excess Alk and Ca, no problem, but the Mg kinda piled up. So now I have to remember to skip my Mg dosing the day before and a day or two after a water change to avoid spikes. So something to watch if you do daily two/three part dosing.

The added Mg would be a dream for tanks dosed primarily Kalkwasser, or for very large water changes where you need to match the elevated levels without having to add back a bunch of stuff.

I've been using it for a few months now. Definitely a vast improvement over the instant ocean I was using. As stated above it desolves very fast and clean. I haven't had any left over muck in the bucket like with other salts. And my coral growth is pretty good. This is the salt ill be using from now on that's for sure.

I've been using it for over a year now and I love the stuff! I was using various salts before but once I switched to RSCP I saw growth take off and great polyp extension. :)

I've been using it out of coincidence (Only available reef salt at a store I had a lot of credit at). It mixes well, clear, and my two year old mixed reef tank took to it really well. I do get the brown muck after about a month or so of mixing water in it (Four water changes total) but it honestly hasn't done anything in negative terms. Parameters are always pretty regular and stable so far, and I'm into my second pail.

+1 overall everything does well, but I get the much on my bucket and mixing ph after about 3 wc's. Decent $ too. I've used it for about a year. Sticking with it for now.

I switched to it about 6 months ago, I think it's great for the price. Mixes quickly and no brown crud in the mixing barrel.

Since Red Sea has been so price competitive and they seem to have gotten a lot better distribution, lots of people have popped up using this salt.

What numbers are you guys getting for ca, alk and mg on a fresh (but completely) mixed 1.025 s.g. bucket? (Salifert kit numbers are best, please.)

I don't test my mixed saltwater. Only my tank and every once in a while my source water to check purity. But Red Sea states that mixed to 1.025 the coral pro should be 8.2-8.4 pH, 12.3-12.7 dKH, 455-475 mg/L Ca, 1360-1420 mg/L Mg, and 390-410 mg/L K.

As I mentioned earlier, I have had an issue with elevated Mg but not excess Ca or Alk. Perhaps the particular balance of the pail I have. Either way, all I have to do is hold off on the supplement for a couple days.

I'd have to say I'm much happier with the salt compared to IO and RC. Price point is good and is a quality salt that dissolves quickly and from batch to batch is consistent. I've went through 4 buckets in 6 months and very happy with it. Will say my Brute 44 mixing container get's some brown muck collected at bottom I have to clean out from time to time.

Same here! I switched to this a little less then a month ago and have noticed a huge difference in growth over using the cheaper Instant Ocean Sea Salt. I dont think I will be switching from the Red Sea stuff for a while.
(I do 10G water changes weekly for my 93g tank)

been using redsea plain probably 8 years now, love the stuff
switched over to RSCP when it came out

i just wished there was more than one supplier in ontario for this salt rather than big als
i have found different mixing practices as to not turn your bucket brown

It would be great if some of your Red Sea Coral Pro fans would test a fresh made batch - just for reference for the rest of us. Might even be interesting to see numbers from a few successive buckets. (Some variability from test to test, mix to mix, bucket to bucket is expected.)

I'd love to see what it actually mixes to in practice.

Thanks for any takers! :-)

I just got some in and will test tomorrow, I have had a 5 gallon bucket mixing for two days.

I have been using Red Sea CP for a little over a year now, great results. The few random times I tested a fresh batch, as recent as 3 weeks ago, the results were pretty true to the label claims. Alk was at 12.6 dkh, Cal around 450 and Mag was at 1400

Wow. I might be the only one not happy with it. I used it from sept till may. The alk on a fresh batch can vary from 12-14dkh. ( causes a mini alk swings or me since I run at 9dkh) Also noticed after a few months that I had to start dosing iron and potassium for my sps.
Yes it does mix easily. But it does leave a clay deposit in the container.
I have since switched back to ESV and noticed a complete turn around in my tank.

I use to use TMP but as soon as I switched to RSCP I haven't looked back its cheapier and I get the same results from TMP if not better

ESV is nice but way too much money imo. Plus I think our tanks is the biggest indicator if a salt is good or not, and if you had a bad experience with one you have to stop and try something else.
So far I love RSCP salt, all my corals have had noticeable improvement and I check every batch but only for calcium, it seems to always be around 450 to 460 so they are pretty accurate (10gallon changes at 1.025)
