have had the aquarium for about 9 months now, previously I have adjusted the valve that controls the water level in the rear chamber. this has been a set it and forget it, very simple. but lately it has started to play tricks, either the water level increases and Ro water is dumped in, or there is a lot of noise due to low water levels in overflows. for some reason it seems impossible to tune. some suggestions, I turned up the valve, but there was minimal dirt there.

Are you talking about the overflow or return pump chamber? The return pump chamber will fluctuate due to evaporation - and this is where you want any ATO (float or sensor). Adjusting the gate valve won't have any long-term effect.

I have the Red sea ato+ its been steady for 9 mounts, but now it either rise or sink

I'll have to try it again as I cleaned it not too long ago. Anything else that should be cleaned?

I've had the Reefer 250 G2 for about 2 months now, and I'm running into the exact same issue. The levels in overflow and return pump will be consistent for a few days, then suddenly something would impact the overflow rate, causing the level in pump chamber to drop, triggering the ATO to dump a bunch of water, and level in overflow goes high enough to reach the emergency overflow! I've had this happen a few times already.

I would open the valve a re-adjust again when water evaporate. I took the valve apart, cleaned it but it doesn't seem to help.

Did you figure out a solution?

unfortunately, the best solution is to have it stable just below the emergency overflow pipe, so if the water level rises, it's not too dangerous. I investigated a bit, from low level to the emergency overflow beep is maybe 3-4l, it is maybe 0.001 in salt level. not optimal as you want it to be as stable as possible, but it is quite stable.

best solution is to replace the diaphragm valve with a gate valve, but I have heard that it is not 100% problem-free either.

I miss a youtube video on how to build a new pipeline with a g2 250

I don’t but it’s rather easy.

Parts needed.
1) 32mm to 1” slip connector
2) 1” pipe
3) gate valve
4) optional union
5) optional 90 if hard plumbing reefmat

How did you solve this prob i cud make a cut st the red line and joint them. The valve is tipping a bitt forward

Did you try to rotate it at the bull head. Mine took some maneuvering since we hard plumb the reef mat. Down like that is better than up.

a bit unsure of what you mean, are you thinking of the connection to filterrol? the wheel on the gate valve hits the door, so a solution must be found. The glue....kept waiting 8 hours, worked like a dream, no leak
