Hello everyone new to this forum,
Im having issues with my red sea reef led 50w. It keeps disconnecting and when I went into settings to turn off the light to do maintenance. It wouldn't turn on. Red sea told me to reset to factory settings and that will fix it. It did not work seems to be that the time zone in the app wrong. Reset the light, deleted the app and reinstalled it and added the light again. Anyone having these issues. Also the power supply reaches 175-185F. Light only works in manual mode, none of my lighting schedules work. When I go to reset the time on the app it does nothing.

No was just trying to get views to help you get it figured out.
But i think your good! I have 52s and 26s youll love it.

Thanks I wouldn't recommend red sea lights to anyone absolutely junk. Had to take the light so apart about 8 times and pull out the watch battery and put it back in to reset it.

I've got the LED 90. They are JUNK! Take it back while you can! Look up a thread about overheating power supplies. I post up about my battle with my light, overheating, returning for an exchange an now it locking up again tonight and being useless as a brick.
I also have two AI products and never had one issue with them. I'm going to ecotech or AI tomorrow on this tank with my LED 90.

I sold it on letgo took about 2 weeks to get rid of it,new power supply and new boards inside the light,my power supply would get up to180F

I got it working today but connected directly to the light and not the wifi. This is not what I paid for. I should have stuck with what I know work very well. Ecotech or Aqua Illumination

Mine kept disconnecting and anytime I would do something with the light on the app it would glitch the time on the app and the light would never turn on with out taking the light apart and reseting the watch battery. Then uninstall the app and reinstall and reconnect the light. Would also never mount in the center of my tank. So happy with the AI Prime 16hd. Only downside to the ai Prime is the "moonlight" is not the same as the red sea, they had allot better moon light on it

It sucks to see im not the only one with this issues my lights keep disconnecting every two weeks at least. I have to keep taking the lights apart, removing the battery and reconnecting them. Red sea tries to make this sound like no big deal but this is not what i paid for, i wish i could return this piece of crap and get the hydras instead.

Red Sea Customer service was pretty responsive; however, now they’re not responding. I contact them about every 5-6 weeks since

A few days ago...
It’s 07:15 in the morning. I’ve come home again from a night at work and my lights are still on. My lighting schedule is 15:00-0200. The lights failing to turn off, happens randomly; maybe once a month.

I don’t understand, the time zones are all correct. The firmware up to date. I didn’t lose electricity (and if I did, shouldn’t the settings be saved?).

I get a lot of issues with the lights not syncing. I’ve removed batteries; exchanged lights and I’m just having bad luck with these lights. I’d sell them, but I’d lose money and if the lights are broken; that would be unethical to sell.

Could it be an internet issue?
I live in a small village with 1 internet provider. My download speed is 25Mbps max; upload speed 10Mbps.

My Acros seem happy and encrust well. I had thought about AI; however, they are much more expensive here in Germany.

Red sea mad it seem like I was doing something wrong. The light is junk. I sold mine I took a $90 loss on it but I'm so much happier with the ai prime 16hd on my 14 gallon im nuvo peninsula. Red sea gave me such a hard time cause I bought it on amazon. Bought it from a authorized red sea seller on amazon. I had to pay for shipping both ways. If I bought it directly from the seller's website I would have gotten a "official" receipt and they would have covered shipping.

With mine the time zone setting would turn a grey color in the app and just never turn on. Power supply was getting up to 190F(87C) and partially melted. I have 900mb download and 900mb upload and the light was 10 feet from the router and was showing like 15mb and would constantly disconnect

Sorry to hear about your Red Sea LED 50/90 issues. I have two 90's with absolutely no problems.. I'm happy with mine.
Power went out one day and the lights did disconnect from the app even after power was back on.. Lights kept working on my schedule even though it was not connected to the app..

Ive got a 60g cube 24*24*24. The light arms available do not reach far enough out to center over the tank and do to their attachment hardware you are pretty much locked into their arms only.
They sell 3 different arms, I have a 425xl with 2 LED 90's and they sit in the middle of the tank(front to back 22.6") I assume that Red Sea make the arms to suit their tanks.
