Red Sea REEFER 450 *White Tiger*

I am thinking about doing a T-slot aluminum stand instead of going with my Red Sea Reefer stand. I may also put the ghost overflow on, instead of the standard REEFER overflow, but i am not making any hasty decisions yet.

This is my stand design so far.

Going for 7 feet long, 36inches high, and about 27 to 30 inches wide.
A few new corals to add!

Starting to get some good growth.

this little frag is starting to table out. I guess i am doing something right.

@915MANG hey thank you! thats funny i just asked you on your youtube channel if you were from EP? I have been thinking of doing a turf scrubber for my office tank, you still using yours?

I love the light I selected for my tank. I ordered a Geisemann infiniti 48" 2 250w metal halide, and 4 54watt T5's. I do like many things about the LED technology. I purchased a Kessil 160 before ordering the Geisemann, when i thought i was going to light my tank with only Kessils. I like many of the dawn dusk and coloration of the LED technology. I had an idea that i had been playing with for a while. I wanted to install my Kessil inside the housing of my Geisemann fixture. I had seen others do it, with the larger model Vectra, so I wanted to try it with my small 160 and my smaller Infinity light. I am thinking of putting a few more of the kisses eventually, for now my main goal is to put some live stock in my tank and begin the zeovit process.

First i took the Kessil apart with a T3 super small t wrench. (i hope these photos post correctly, using a mac)

I used reef epoxy and silicone to glue the kessil pieces to the metal shim. It was hard to stuff the Kessil pieces in the cavity of the light, but i was able to get it done and install the apex moon lights too.

Putting it back together. The best help in the world!

moon light barely visible on the left reflector.

one more pic of the moon light.

The project was not that bad and i made sure not to take the kiss pieces apart, just reconfigured their positioning. Later i will add at least 2 more, one in the middle and one on the other end.

Hope this may help anyone else thinking of using all 3 light technologies.
You handy people make me so jealous!

Nawh I took it down because I didnt like the salt spray I was getting. I want to run another one again, been looking around. You know how it is for us, always changing things around

Hey you ever think about holding a meeting at your place? Usually people show up look at the tank and just talk FISH

@915MANG that would be cool, but maybe I'll do that after I get my new stand. A couple people have dropped by and we talked zeovit and sps, love geeking out with Luther fish nerds

It's funny how when you travel a lot and your on your way back you are crossing your fingers everything is ok with the tank, despite what the wife says, lol I need to hook up a webcam for piece of mind

Sounds good! Im happy to lend a hand when its time to lift the tank onto a new stand.

So i thought i would do a basic update on the tank, mostly for me to start keeping track of the corals and their growth that is really starting to take off.

I cut the middle of the coral because it wasnt growing like the other limbs. It paid off as of right now it is growing a budding polyp that i am sure will take off.

after, i know need to mess with White balance, but to lazy.

Hey Sheldon, what do you think about me Youtubing your tank? I just did a video, and a lot of people like the idea. Let me know if youd be interested. Thanks

@915MANG I like the idea, but it means I have to do a super big cleaning on it, lol Personally I feel the tank is a bit young, but I like your work, and would be honored.

I was out of town for about 2 weeks, and luckily no big issues with my tank while I was gone. This was the longest trip I had taken since starting my tank, and I am glad I was able to monitor everything through Apex.
I was at my local LFS, for some more green Chromis to add more "schooling" effect to my tank and I also picked up a few Retro Chromis. I am very impressed with the color of these fish.

I highly recommend them.

Very nice of you to say Sheldon! Let me know when youre ready:) No worries Bro!

@915MANG yea I got my vectra pump from SWH, I could technically fill my office tank now if I wanted, but I am trying to figure out how I am going to do water changes, with out buckets since there is carpet in my office. Plus I somewhat like what I did with the wiring but I want to make sure it will work long term, right now I'm not so sure

Very Cool Sheldon, I sent you a friend request on FB. Your set up is sweet!

@915MANG thanks, it's a small work in progress. Lol my wife thinks my office is my fish room storage ha ha so I need to set it up soon to clear it out
