Red Sea test kits.

After seeing many horror stories of shipment arrivals I thought “they had to of fixed this “.
Nope!
Encrusted stained bs arrived today. Multiple open containers. It’s all trashed. And this brand is not “cheap”. what the heck?

Guess I’ll try a different brand. Suggestions?

I've used RedSea for a while and never had that issue. Got mine from BRS and were perfect

Even my dealer sold me stuff that was already used. They need to figure out who is doing this

I can’t even open or separate the papers. The NH bottle was fully open. NO fully open. Freaking KH bottle didn’t even have its lid on?!

Where did you order from? I've not once had an issue ordering from BRS and ALL 9 of my test kits are Red Sea.

I only have the no3 and po4 kits from red sea. But both came in great shape from BRS as well.

Never order RedSea test kits from amazon - they are always beat up. Ordered a few times - all broken. Received multiple shipments from BRS - all perfect. It's not Red Sea's fault.

Update. Brs kit showed up in better condition but the same bottle (ammonia test bottle B) was also open and had leaked everywhere. Guess I’ll try salifert or someone else?

Why not if the price is right?
A lot of the retailers here sell on amazon. Plus, I like amazon quick and easy returns.

I find it hard to believe that so many test kits were ordered and all of them had open bottles. I have ordered Red Sea test kits and bought them at my LFS and never had a problem with them. I bet if you contacted BRS and told them what happened and supplied a picture of the issue, they would gladly replace the defective kit. Why spend more money rather than get the problem fixed for free.

I had this happen last time i ordered one off Amazon reef foundation kit alk/cal/mag, it came leaking. This time when I bought it I purchased one at my LFS so i can open and look at all 3 test inside to make sure none of the bottles leaked.

I've had the PO4 test kit come in with slightly open bottle leaking the blue colored part B reagent all over the inside kit. This was from BRS so I put the blame on Red Sea.

I’m willing to bet these leaks are coming from Red Sea and not the vendors.

I would bet that the multiple movements the shipments go through from the factory to final destination is the problem.

Think about every time it’s picked up and put down, most like in large bulk packs that require forklifts (about as package friendly as UPS or FedEx delivery people)

Probably 15-20 forklift moves, several highway truck moves, on and off of a boat, and then the delivery company.

The internal packaging of the test kit is sub par for that many moves.

My first one arrived with broken vials. The replacement was ok but the vials were still loose in the kit box.

It is a Red Sea issue in my mind as the packaging for the kit to go through all the moves is inadequate.

Now their tank packaging is another story! Excellent!
