No. I was going to use the internal one to start with then add one later. Was looking at the Tunze

Can't go wrong with the Tunze best investment I made by far. Excited to see your build I was also looking at the 525XL

I am going to take this build slowly and do it right....might be a few months before all up and ready to get going with the fun stuff. I am moving in a month too, so going to get some items and wait until we are done moving before the big stuff. My 170 will have to be home for a few months longer for my fish and corals. Their big new home will be worth the wait!

I plan on doing the same. The ATO on them are poor at best on the Red Sea. We had a 170 before upgrading to a 450 and it stopped letting water into the tank. I'm going to continue using the container but add my own pump.

I have found with my 170 that the float switch clogs and needs cleaning. I clean mine good about every other month and it works great....did have it quit on me once. I called red sea and they sent me a replacement float. It was not until I had this new one clog that I realized what was going on. Now I have 2 the rotate out.

I haven't seen an update in a while but I wanted to mention something I noticed.

What exactly are you going to use the four DOS pumps for? I see you said you are going to use the Red Sea Reef Care Program, I am too. I read somewhere on this site that you cannot use the NoPoX in an acrylic dosing container. I guess something about the chemicals that make it up will not play well with acrylic containers.

I am using the dos for auto water changes and dosing the Red Sea system. I am dosing NOPOX with a dos now and just have tubing in the bottle. It did turn the tubing all white. Never heard anything about needing special stuff to dose it, but it did mess with all the flex tubing it runs in.

I emailed BRS about this very question, and got a reply today. They said that a few of them use the same dosing containers I orders without any problems with NOPOX.
