Wow. What a day. I'm exhausted. I mixed FSW early today and matched it to the tank water. Then the fun started. Drained out the 40 into brutes. Caught the fish. Stored the corals and LR in brutes and buckets. Re washed the substrate. Then my help arrived. Mark from Ultimate Corals. He's not only my favorite coral shop, he's a friend. We wrestled the old tank out and wrestled the new tank into place. An hour later, it was done.
I still have a lot to do! It's running in manual mode right now. Apex will be installed in the morning after I get some sleep!
Here's a couple of shots of the work in progress!

That is some pretty sweet lighting. I'm building a cabinet right now and will add some similar lighting. Is this from Home Depot? I saw something similar a few weeks back and was thinking of picking it up.

congrats! I always sleep well after a day like that. Looking forward to a few more tank shots.

Thanks. That's an eBay special. I think they were 15 bucks for a long string of self adhesive tape with LEDs on it. I was able to do two full passes up, across and down. Plus a remote controller and power supply. They also make them in plain white. Look for a US seller. Most come from overseas.

Apex mounting. This is the first time I'm not embarrassed to show my wiring. Some of you know I'm rather lax at making wiring neat.
This time, I'm doing it right. Or what I consider right.

And we have light! I see a firmware mismatch in my Radions. One is slightly brighter than the other. Most wiring is complete. On to MPs!

Did you get the cad lights skimmer? And did you get the pipeless skimmer?

I was going to ask you a question regarding that.. we have the pipe less skimmer. I was wondering where you put your waterline in the sump?

Yes. It's in about 8" of water. It's pulling yuk already.

Just letting the coral get acclimated for another day. Then I'll start moving things around. I kind of like the zen of the rocks right now. Once the third rock gets its coraline going I may add a shelf. Probably move some of the singles tomorrow. Need to get the ato going. Then the dos. Just too tired to focus...
 
ATO in and running. Precise water levels a must for this cad skimmer. Too high and it's volcano foam time! Also the fussiest skimmer to adjust.

Next up DOS and container. Wish the DDR showed up! Hate to do this twice..it will come when I'm finished, no doubt...
Then final wiring tweaks and mounting the radion power supplies and battery back up. I'm going to hang the radion bricks upside down off the deck of the stand. They are not that heavy...
 
it does have a zen-like feel to it. by the way, from the picture it looks like maybe you could have gotten that 100 g....

Yes, it would have fit, but our tv watching positions would be limited. Not that we watch it a lot in that room...usually me at 6am watching an F1 race and occasional episode of Top Gear...
I'm good with this size. I am really liking it. Still stuff to work out but it's a really nice tank. All the occupant seem quite happy...

That looks great! Nice to be able to access all of your modules and make additional connections when and if necessary. One really nice thing about this tank compared to the Fusion 40 is that you have considerably more room to work in the stand.

Speaking of more room, how are those factory-installed return pumps working out? From the photos I've seen on CAD's website of the sump area, it looks like they could be swapped out pretty easily if needed.

Nice to see your build taking off. Looking great! And glad to hear all the critters made the move without opposition.

Those aren't the best pumps, but yes, reach down and they are out. Easy upgrade or cleaning. Not too bad with noise. Skimmer makes more than the returns. ATO is loudest due to large gap between hose and waterline. Still quite bearable.

The stand is a pleasure to open. Do need to get some type of shelf or door caddy though. Lots of open space.

Tonight I'll get the dosing system up and remove the socks. Fed the tank last night and everyone looked happy...
