Reef-A-Palooka Follow-up Question: $6K Bounce?

I was at Reef-A-Palooza on Saturday, 10-10-15, and saw a Bounce mushroom on sale for $6,000. I cannot remember which vendor was selling the piece, but I think it was the only one at the expo. Later in the day, around 4:30 or 5:00, word went around that someone had bought the piece! Did anyone else hear similar chatter, and can anyone confirm the purchase?

I was at the zoanthids.com booth and over heard them talking about someone buying it as well. ..

I don't even know what a Bounce mushroom is but I know I wouldn't pay 6k for it! Lol I wouldn't pay 6k for any coral! ;p

I went to a vendor on the far left back corner. They had a huge bounce. The girl working said that the owner had purchased it for 5k. That's all the info I can give. Need to see my map but I'm sure it was sexy coral on that far corner from the entrance.

I'd imagine there was a little negotiation prior to the sale.

I forgot about this one! That was the Sexy Coral booth, but I was thinking of another one. The booth I had in mind was near the center of the room at the end of row of booths abutting a walkway. They had an L-shaped setup.

Did SC have two booths? I only remember seeing the one that was right by one of the outside doors.

I dont think there aloud to rent 2 different booths other then side by side, if they had 2 booths i was helping a vendor there nd didnt realize it

I don't recall sexy corals having a bounce at the show. I know Hugo had a large bounce priced at $3k and his booth was near SC's.

Hopefully @pciscott can chime in. He witnessed the sale and saw the receipt. I was told he bought 2 corals from the exhibitor. IMO, a coral is worth exactly what someone will pay. I prefer to trade rather than buy so I try to acquire rare pieces and trade them for other hot pieces. jrpdriver has a few Walt Disney acros and also brought some Somewhere Over the Rainbow millepora. Under bluer LED, they both looked exactly as advertised. He was displaying them under a Maxspect Razor. When he showed me with the whites on, it looked like any other acro. As the whites were dimmed it was really nice (exactly as advertised. IMO, the Somewhere Over the Rainbow milli blows it away in a side by side comparison. I have hard time believing someone would voluntarily choose the WD over that.
