So I have the final scape done and sand in. Going to fill it up if all goes well tonight. Would it be easier to make five gallon batches of saltwater or dump all the water in the tank and mix out that way? I think the buckets would be better since it is an aio aquarium. Also, should I wait on running the skimmer for a day or two to let everything settle or wait until after the cycle?

I would wait to skim for a couple of weeks. And you can mix small batches with really high salinity then just add fresh.

Thanks man that is what I will do. I will bust out the digital camera tonight and take some better pics.

So I finally got the tank filled up last night. Started up until about 2 am mixing salt and making rodi. Here are some pics of the final scape done and some that show the shelf brackets I used to hang the fixture. Going to try to sand and prime the shelf and stand door tonight.

I am going to try to get a single piece of live rock from one of the locals in Cookeville. I would buy it from my lfs but last time I did that the rock was covered in hydroids and pest anemones. Once I get a small piece of lr I am going to does pure ammonia to 4 ppm and let then play the waiting game lol. This will give me plenty of time to plan my stock list, which I still have no idea what I want.

Some more pics of the rock work and of the ReefKeeper mounted on the side.

I was ready to kill the Tunze Osmolator this morning. Apparently the sensor was not mounted perfectly level. the backup switch got stuck which made the unit think the tank was to full. So at 4:30 this morning it starts beeping. The wife was way less than thrilled. Other than that this unit is awesome.
