I have a RK Elite that keeps resetting (restarts). I sent it to DA and they checked it out and sent it back to me. Assuming all modules are ok. I hooked up all the modules using bus cables I had, but the system would reboot often, and I would get a lot of system errors ( thousands in one day) and some modules detached. I bought all new bus cables and replaced all old with the new ones. Now I'm still getting rebooting and a few errors (hundreds) and sometimes detached modules. I'm at a loss as to what to check for next. Everything is updated to the latest firmware. I've done a factory reset on the head unit. I've been messing with this system for months trying to get it up and running. Would like to see it standing on it own and running my system someday. Any ideas would be a help. I know your going to say contact DA. Well it took DA CS months to get where I am now. I've gone to the support forums at DA website and found nothing on the problem I'm having. Thanks

Ok. Let's try this.

1. Plug the head unit in with a single pc4 and see if it will stay up. If not swap buss cables. If still not swap the pc4 until u find one that works. If it never gets stable then I can't help further.

2. If it stays up, try adding a single module at a time unil it fails. Once it begins to fail, that is probably the bad module causing issues.

I'm assuming you have the latest firmware for all of your modules?

When you are checking as Lindsey suggested make sure you don't have anything plugged into the power outlets. Some devices like small pumps will cause the issues you are having when they are powered off. Let us know how it goes.

I will give this a try. Thanks for responding

Thanks , I will let you know what happens. Thanks

Heres what I've been trying for the last 2 months. Bought all new bus cables, and attached each module one a time. The PB4's all needed updating, did that and they won't save the new update info. My Reef says the have updated but in the modules list they say they need updated. I don't know what else to try. I have a SLX module that won't save updates either. DA told me to do a interrupted update. I did what directions say to do , now I have a SLX module that is dead won't show up in the list on My Reef. So I can't even get the old software back on it. I'm stumped on how to get this system to work.

OK, on the SLX when you plug it into the SID do you get an unknown module "???????????????"? If so select it and Do a firmware update. It should ask you to select the modue from a drop down list. As for the PB4's that is a module I do not have yet. I have 6 PC4 instead. When you update them make sure you only have one module at a time hooked to the SID. This applies to any module though. Also make sure they are powered off also.

I don't get the ????? to be able to select. The SID only shows, no ????. Also I have updated the PB4 and when I go to my reef after updating I get that it needs updating, I believe the new updates are 205 and it shows as 204 needs to be updated to 205. Almost like it didn't take the update. When I put back on line the green light blinks.

Ok I will send a e-mail. I have other problems also.

Here is a e-mail response I got back from DA with the problem I've been having.

Hello,

from the sound of the issue with the pb4, it did not get the entire revision list form the server.

We are currently working on a new version of myReef to update for windows 10 drivers. Hold off on making any changes till this is released.

Thank you,

I hope not long. I've already been trying to get this system up and working 8 months now.

Being honest, I like mine but It's got an issue or two. Like I'd rather not trust it again with dosing. We had a power outage and the power bar decided I needed an alkalinity dose that wasn't scheduled. When the alarm triggered instead of turning off the pump, it clicked on and off until I could get to the bar and unplug it. All I can say is after watching my favites slowly die off and dang near losing a lord, they've remained unplugged from the system until I am ready to dose. Weighing benefit over risk keeps me using the system with better reservation now that's certain.

Please let us know if and when you get your situation resolved.

J

Sorry to hear you lost corals. I had a problem with my ATO, it kept going on and off filling the sump with fresh water and overflowing. In turn the salinity went way down. I lost a lot of my prized pieces. I'm like you I disconnected the ATO until I can trust the system again. Right now I have nothing the system is controlling. Sad part I have a $600 system sitting there doing nothing, and a couple $5 timers doing what the RK can do. I hope DA gets this straightened out.

What kind of pumps were being used for dosing and ATO? I never had that kind of issue with my RKE.

The BRS dosers, and I even used them on the correct receptacles!
