I have had the tank up and running for a few weeks now. I have 1 Green Chromis and 2 Mocha Gladiator clowns. Using Prime during the cycle to protect the fish. So far everything is good. No nitrites/nitrates yet. Ammonia 1ppm. Getting ready to do a 1/2 water change. Loving the clowns.

I'm just setting up this same size hex tank m any tips? Was this filtration plan adequate?

Yes it is. Unfortunately my tank sprung a leak and while setting up temporary housing for the clowns, I lost them due to rushing through things and not rinsing some used substrate enough. That tank now houses a pair of Maroons and a few corals. I switched the power filter out for an Eheim Pro 350 Canister filter I found on craigslist for cheap and paired it with a home made surface skimmer and it looks great. Love the canister filter now that the surface skimmer is keeping the surface clear.
