I consider these pumps to be absolutely dark horses that don't get enough credit. I can't speak to the Pulse 2 as I have the 4, but I can tell you it pushes far more flow than my MP40. Tons of flow, quiet, just works. If you have a Apex with 0-10v you can connect and control that way if you need schedules.

OK I have a 120 tank now and a 225 BNIB in the garage, so looks like I will get the 4 thanks.

I just put the Octo 4 in my 120. I was going to get another but I don’t think I need too, but only a few hours use. Just seeing what your experience has been

@DeeBee do you use 1 or 2 of the octo 4s in your tank? I got a similar waterbox 4 feet by 2 and wondering, thanks

I was using only one but had an MP40 on the other side. I actually quit using the Octo on my tank because the flow was killing the corals close to it (on lowest setting).

It's a very reliable, quiet and super strong pump. Just wouldn't work for me because there's no open spaces in my tank anymore.

That's surprising. Are you still using the mp40 for flow? I'm surprised since the octo 4 and mp40 are rated for a similr flow 4,500 gph yet the Octo was too strong.

Yes, running MP40 on one side and Reefwave on the other.

They may have similar ratings on paper but the Octo 4 moves far more water real world.

Sounds like I should do a comparison video to help everyone out.

I am looking at the Pulse 2’s. The ability to direct flow as well as the updated controller makes them a bit of an update over the dated MP40’s.

I had a 4 on my 100 gallon.

Holy cannoli, that thing could move water quietly! Plus being slightly aimed was really cool too.

They get a huge thumbs up from me!

I have (2) pulse 4's run by the newer 4+ controller. It's nice to have the ability to sync them up or do the opposite modes. I've only been using a single pulse 4 for a year and added the second second with the newer controller in the fall. So far I've been very happy with them. I don't have them at 100% ever. My tank is 4' x 2'. I'd choose them again if I were starting over.

I have 2 x OP4, they are absolute monsters in my 270G tank. I have them dialed down quite a bit.

Wow. Going by the size of your tank compared to mine (150 gallon), OP2s would be more appropriate would you say?
