Reef-Pi The All In One Pi Challenge

A quick hack for getting rid of this graph issue will be to recreate the probe in disabled mode. apply calibration and then enable it.
I did that last night though and set readings to 1sec to clear the 0. Them once cleared I set to 60 sec. It still kept 0 and 12 for some reason.

Looking good! Did you get the lunar lights set up?

Another update!

I have the lunar/moon lights installed successfully and they work amazing!

I originally thought I would use 3 strips of 3 lights but decided after testing that they do go dim enough for me to use 4 full strips of 15 lights. I also tested the current draw using my multimeter and each strip only used 50ma at max power so I wired 2 sets of 2 strips so as to not overload the ULN2803.

This is at 100% power compaired to my regular lights at 70% blue 20% white

When they are off they are still bright

Update finally dark in Florida and the moonlights are on! They are literally the most amazing and way better than any other moonlights I have used because of how even the lighting is! There is even shimmering with the lights on! I love how dim these get as I can not sleep it is too bright in my room and most other moonlights have no control.

1% vs 0% you can see that 0 is really quite bright. Can't wait for this to be fixed.

There must be some pwm still operating at 0 percent. With my setup, pwm is feeding the optoisolated modules, since they are voltage controlled and relatively "slow" there is not enough signal there to trigger them.

@AquaRaider44 is feeding pwm to a darlington which is current controlled, and relatively fast enough to catch the quick pulses and trigger his leds

Correct

This is on 3.0 alpha 2 the latest and I think it's the same pwm bug allowing the lights on the doser to run as well.
Oh... this is the pca9685 requiring specific settings for fully on or off bug .

TL;DR - Recalibrate your doser after your first month! (probably every month)

Just checked my calcium and magnesium levels more over the last week and realized I needed to recalibrate my Jeabo doser. It has been going for almost a month now and has definitely broken in as the new measurements were almost 10% different or more on each head! I also changed to the BRS 2 part as it is half the cost retail of the 2 little fishies 2 part was wholesale. I also found the source of my calcium uptake... After I recalibrated and adjusted the amount dosed and corrected the tank by hand the clam grew by 2mm or more all the way around it IN ONE WEEK!!!

LOOK AT THAT GROWTH!!! (pic was taken at night while the clam was closed to see growth)

Current doser settings and chemicals used for anyone looking for amazing clam growth (I also try to feed Reef Roids twice a week in the evening which the clam loves ;))

Clams can grow real big :-)
I’m researching on stepper motor based doser, I think they’ll largely address the calibration issues

Update!

Loving the lunar lights and found a new purpose as well as lighting the tank at night.

The mars aqua lights turn off at 11% brightness which is nice but I wanted the transition to be smoother. I decided to add 4 more strips of lunar lights to the existing wiring and now have them at 100% when the lights turn off then turn down as the night goes on. The brightness is much more impressive. I also have them turn on in the morning to 100% to make it more smooth.
