I'll been curing my reef rock for 4 days now and i dont see any ammonia and nitrates at all is it suppose to be like that i thought it would have some ammonia and nitrates by now,and i just check the rocks that's curing in my bucket and one of the larger piece of dry rock have alot of brown color to it its not white what could it be?

Did you add bacteria? Like bio spira?

Right now i have 2 5 gallon bucket thata curing the rock

I've never used this. what is it supposed to do?
Well its pretty awesome actually. Not for curing though. It's basically a cycle in a bottle. Gives you enough nitrifying bacteria for your first fish. The BB starts to multiply rapidly as long as a ammonia source is available. Dr foster and smith mail it with cold packs. It works.

It's bacteria in a bottle. It provides a colony of ammonia and nitrite eating bacteria to instantly cycle a tank. Kinda like live sand but without the sand. o_O

Very interesting. so add ammonia then add this stuff?

So should i use bio spira to help with my curing rock?

Most do inadvertently without issues. I would do bio spira than ammonia. Don't be surprised if the ammonia is gone the next day ;)

I think it would be a waste of money. The rock needs to soak for 4 weeks at the least.

I don't believe you should be curing dry rock at all. You typically cure dead but previously live rock. Are you curing your rock or trying to get your tank cycled?
