Reefbrite tech LEDs vs Reefbrite xho LEDs

So I'm setting up a new tank 48x24x16
I have a ati 6 bulb light fixture and I wanna add to led strips to each side of the ati fixture.

My question is should I get the Reefbrite tech strips or the Reefbrite xho for the led supplementation?


What I am trying to accomplish with the led strips is that pop and wow factor LEDs give to polyps ?

The Xhos have LEDs the whole length so you get a more even spread. I would spend the extra and do the Xhos. It's going to make te tank pop

I have the xhos on my 120 and love them...they do agood job with coloring imo

The XHO's do a great job, not sure about the regular version.

xhos lighting is more is the key and if you are spending the money then its worth to get the bang for the buck

Oh I forgot to ask.
What's the best way to attach the Reefbrite to my ati fixture ?

If you look through my build thread you will see how I attached mine. I used these nice stainless steel hex screws from my local hardware store.

Also, I used a nut and washer on the back end of the screw, with the thin metal you can't just screw it in like a piece of wood. It ended up working really well, almost like they match my original fixture.

I'm running the xho strips with mh...and they're awesome!! U can tell the diff in the blue right away a lot deeper blue giving more of the POP!!

I ended up getting the a tech and a xho to keep the cost a little bit lower.
I think I will mount the xho to the front of the ati fixture and the regular tech led to the back of the fixture .

I made these to attach my tech Reefbrites to an ATI Powermodule. Much cleaner than the included aluminum mounts. ATI fixtures are a little shorter than Reefbrites, so I had to chop about an inch of the aluminum housing with a bandsaw.

You could also straighten the aluminum L brackets and use the factory screw hole on the edge of the ATI fixture. Had the attached like this too...

Colors are ok. Growth is ok. You don't really get any shimmer from the LEDs while the T5s are on, but I can live without that.
