Here is a pic of the clowns before they dived into the anemone.

Bali P1 Clownfish Pair and a 3rd companion Ocellaris:

These clowns are BEAUTIFUL. The male has so much personality and character with his unique helmet and vampire markings. The female has the cleanest pattern I have ever seen.

NOTE:
Having 3 clowns together is usually NOT a good idea. In order for this to work...add them at the same time and make sure there is a size hierarchy so the largest male doesn't transform into a dominant female--hermaphroditism.

The smallest male here has already been paired with the female and we tend to set a transition phase to see if aggression is displayed to determine compatibility. All three are doing well with no fighting whatsoever.

The female will occasionally set her pecking order to show who is boss, but aside from that...friendly. They LOVE the Magnifica and this type of anemone usually achieve best health while hosting.

Three was decided as a choice due to Magnificas known for growing and expanding to a large size. Housing 3 felt right. They are happy with all the real estate.

Vid of the Gem Tang when it first arrived:

Advice: Gem Tangs are highly aggressive, usually dominating any zebrasoma or tang species that is similar in appearance--a good thing in a way as the victor is the more expensive 3k valued tang (still a big loss if you care for any fish). To form a community, be sure to have them cohere to relative size and quarantined or introduced to DT within exact timeframe.

For those wondering why Tangs in general are very territorial? Well, in the wild they are in heavy contention, competing for resources like food (turf algae) by the hour. Their appetite and grazing are at a high volume and speed that the genetic makeup becomes hardwired to apply aggression once another tang is among them.

Changing the rockscape to a non-familiar design would assist, but for an established reef...that is more than difficult sometimes so practice careful decision making when considering tangs.

Hawaiian Blue Spotted Boxfish:

Please don't attain this fish until strong research and a bit of experience with boxfish is at least acquired. They are highly toxic when stressed and can crash a whole system.
For a 90G aquarium, it will outgrow the tank. It loves a few hiding spots, yet more so free swimming space that is ample. This wonderful fish along the Imperator and the Tangs will be transferred into a larger tank when ready.
Aside from all that info...this Boxfish is an enjoyable addition and feeding on mysis atm--inducing these specimens to eat is the most difficult part.

Harlequin Shrimp:
Harlequin Feeding:
Info:
Harlequin Shrimps feed primarily on starfishes (echinoderm). The second you put the starfish in, they come for it IMMEDIATELY--in my case it has always been that way.

For some aquarist, they will prefer purchasing a chocolate chip starfish and sever a leg off w/ bone cutters to cut costs in feeding. Sometimes you get lucky and receive a shrimp that will part the leg for you--this one does.

They do well in pairs and are usually sold that way also. Our female is gorgeous and about 1.5in. Very happy. I was able to take a photo as well. Enjoy.

How long it take for the shrimp to "part" the leg?

Wow! That's all I got here is Wow. That box fish is so cool... the gem tang is beautiful! The shrimp is so cool! I usually feed the one at the store aternia stars that I find in the Show tank. It's pretty cool to watch them go after the stars so quickly.

Thanks Meredith! They were born to eat stars the way they sniff them out so quick lol.

Nice start! Love the boxfish. Lets see some coral pics next time

I'll have a vid with a good amount of corals in it previewing my recent up-to-date.
