You'll need the adapter (metric pipe thread) I'd guess. If you can show us the rest of the plumbing we could get a better idea since nobody has this tank yet. I'm not sure if they changed anything from their smaller versions.

just FYI, the cabinet pieces are located underneath the tank on the pallet jack. It was a challenge for me and my wife to get them out while leaving the tank on the pallet. We rotated the whole thing slightly, and used a 2/4 to slide the tank onto to keep the cabinet from moving, and then I lifted one side of the tank while she slid the cabinet pieces out.

That stinks with the plumbing yea 1/2 inch can do that flow but u need a high pressure pump to do it if u use bectra l1 I bet ur return gph would be somewhere around 150-250 because of how restricted it is

the ID of the return pipe looks to be around 3/4 inch, so somewhere in-between 1/2 inch pvc and 3/4 inch pvc (it's a metric pipe).

Well 3/4 would be better that would get you to around 500-600 gallons an hour at 100%

I love these tanks I do but the plumbing is something that makes me not want to get a Red Sea. They should let you pick the plumbing size as each pump is diffrent

I appreciate the input. I'm trying to find a chart or graph of where you came up with these numbers. Is there a reference for the GPH that can be produced through specific PVC sizes based on specific pumps?

I have vectra m1s as returns
Broadfield I think has one on his setup with the l1 as a pump and I believe that's what he said he was getting for gph could have been someone else but I'm pretty sure it was broadfield

Alright, so just to clarify a few things: the 750 uses the same plumbing sizes as the 350, 450, etc... I took the return nozzle from my 350 and hooked it up to the 750 and it fit perfectly. I also took a 3/4 inch MPT and confirmed that it screws in perfectly to the end of the return line (the barb fitting screws out). If wanting to hard plumb to the return line, there's no need to buy a metric conversion because a standard 3/4 inch female fitting screws into the end of the return line.

I skimmed through @Broadfield 's post and unless I'm mistaken, he doesn't know what his return flow is due to having his L1 run multiple reactors as well.

I'd like to believe that the return line can handle more than 600 gph lol. The recommended pump size on Red Sea's website is 1850 gph (for the 750 xxl). @RedSeaKev is this flow rate achievable in the 750 xxl? I'm trying to rationalize why the same plumbing would be used on a tank that's twice the size.

I thought the same thing when assembling my 525XL... I got an extra trim piece of the opposite color as well. Maybe they meant to do this? Not sure why! Good luck with the new tank, I'm sure it's going to be awesome!
