Reefkinetics Reefbot

Does anyone know if there is an API (application programming interface, not Aquarium Pharmaceuticals) to access the cloud data at this time?

@drernesto And I would like to echo the above, very nice machine! Super glad you did all the hard work on this. The software and platform is well designed! I bent a needle on the fifth test, but I’m guessing I didn’t have it vertical enough in the mount?

Five out of five stars so far!
Hello,
The bent can be done due to a minor vertical position of the vial, make sure that there’s a couple of melemeters between the tip of the needle and the top of the vial.

Cheers.

I’ve noticed this on mine too. Not enough to break it but it seems like it’s doesn’t plunge into the reagent vial perfectly vertically. Any way to adjust this? The syringe does look correctly positioned in the holder.
We are investigating this issue and working on a kind of calibration for the position of the syringe

a

On my machine the needle and syringe assembly are very tight up against the upper mount for the flange at the top of the syringe. It was hard to get the syringe fitted into the bracket, I had to push down on the syringe pretty hard to get it to seat into the fitting. Once I bent the needle it required pliers to get it back out of the lower bracket where the needle seats. I think the issue is the perpendicularity of the needle itself to the axis of the linear actuator mechanism to move the assembly up and down, not the locking mechanism to the syringe.
The top of the syringe should be tight or else it will move during the withdrawal of reagents which will lead to wrong dosing. Make sure to hold the linear actuator assembly while installing the syringe.

The vials are as vertical as I can get them visually. I think it is a minor flaw verticality of the needle, but I adjusted the replacement needle by eye and it is performing fine for now.

Good news, thanks!

I was only pointing out that it is tight because someone asked for more expensive syringes. I was saying that there wasn't a need, it is all tight and snug, no problems other than the potential to bend the needle if you aren't careful.

I really like the alert notifications with this system. It’s pretty much programmed out of the box the way I want it. Emails when tests are done, also alert notifications on My phone. I also like how the full waste container notification prevents further tests from occurring. I have my waste line running into a 5gl bucket so the preset 1L setting wasn’t correct. Which then led to me learning how adjust this. Pretty easy to do on the app. This all done while I’m out of town and on my phone!

Agreed, this is all very well thought out. An excellent system for sure. I am looking forward to getting some better reagents and methods supported, but that should be pretty easy for them to do.

Question on Red Sea alk and Reef Bot. I just ordered the test refill kit for this and notice it’s “new and improved”. The color changes seem different from the alk test kit I had before (which was actually expired). I assume the Reef Bot is setup for the “new and improved” version? If so this should prob be a warning somewhere to use the latest version Incase people have old kits on hand.

What’s the mapping of these items in the app to the Red Sea bottles labeled A, B, and C? I didn’t want to assume Ind was C since it wasn’t last. Any help?

We are are using the new one. You can use it normally.

For magnesium 1 is A, ind is B, 2 is C
We will fix it

What test kits will this work with? My Phopshate and Calcium tests require powders, so i'm guessing they can't be used with the reefbot. Thanks!

It looks like TropicMarin offers both a Pro and regular phosphate test kit. Will the ReefBot work on both?
