ReefMat fleece roll consumption

Hi guys! Can someone please share a link or reference to purchase aftermarket rolls for the RedSea 1200? I have a Waterbox 220 and keep eating rolls like crazy!
Preconfilter.com

Send them an email with the width of the fleece, and the size of the barrel the fleece is spooled on to. I pay under $10/roll for mine from them, I used an aquamaxx roller myself.

I used them as well. Worked very well but note the micron size is smaller than the Red Sea so watch your nitrates etc. they have 50 and 80 micron versions. I understand the Red Sea is 200 micron (but I may be wrong).

For the Reefmat 1200 I got 6.7” 50 yard rolls.

Note the core they wind them on are 2” and the Red Sea uses 1.5” so you’ll need an adapter. I found 2” desk wire grommets worked perfectly for this.

I started printing 3D adapters for the rolls. $10 a set plus $5 shipping. $15 total and last longer than the Amazon grommets.

There are many suppliers in TAOBAO (PRC) under $10/roll, only issue is that you've gotta read Chinese. Their core is ~1mm bigger, nothing much of an issue installing on the REASEA spindle with a round of masking tape to makeup the differences. I'm getting similar results, about 2-3 weeks on both the original (200micron) and the aftermarket stuff. BUT as the tank progresses, I'm seeing 6 weeks of use on the latest roll (3rd Aftermarket Roll). I will swap in an original roll after 5-6 rolls as a reference. Both registered as 35m on the Reefbeat App.

Adapters for the Preconfilter.com I charge $15 shipped. They work fine for the RM 1200 I’m not sure on the RM 500. If the RM 500 roll core is 1 1/2” it will work. Pm for ordering.

How long these rolls last since they are 50 micron

It depends on how dirty your tank is, and how many gph your return pump is pumping. I feel they last the same as original.

Has anyone found a better micron solution for the 500's yet? I sent Precon an email waiting for a response if they will cut a roll to match the thickness of RedSea.

Well right now I use the 1200. I run probably around 2100gph. Roll last time 30-35 days lol. Expensive.

Has anyone figure out how to change the length of the aftermarket roll on the app to notify when to change the roll ?

I had a price increase to $20 shipped. They are now made out of ABS.

I wonder how the new material works. Right now I find the extruding stuff shrinks so much it allows too much water to escape the sides as the holes get exposed and then the mat basically doesn’t advance.

The Preconfilter.com rolls don’t shrink too much. I’ve used 8 rolls now and they all covered the holes. Yes they do shrink some.

Here’s mine. Right now holes are covered but only just and it eventually shrinks to not cover. This is also from preconfilter - 50 micron roll I believe.
