ReefMat Sump Modification

I have the same sump, heater, skimmer, reefmat. My sump hasn't looked that clean since new. I suppose you could stick a reactor to the left of the reefmat. I have not used a reactor. You did a nice job removing the partitions but I did mine while in use full of water. I want to upgrade to a bigger tank so I can have some bigger fish.

I am surprised you do not need a stand for the skimmer.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did; but at this point I'm locked into the 500.

I think the most annoying fact is that I managed to get my AquaUV 15W to fit just behind the ReefMat500.

The 250 is long overdue. Now all we need is an upgraded motor for the 1200.

Thank you! Could you share a photo of your sump as it stands right now. I’m trying to do exactly what you did and trying to get a feel for how everything will fit, especially with overflow pipe.

Yeah... I went on a small rant about it in the FB Red Sea group. Frustrating...since I would have loved to have the 250 model and saved the space in my sump/cabinet... Alas...

If you can fit the 500 you should be okay with the 250. The 500 is 6.8” tall from the top of the sump and the 250 is 8.9”. Should be able to afford the extra 2”.
