Here we go, another build thread. I am in the process of upgrading my little 8 gallon mushroom tank. Here is the 8 gallon.
It is an nice little tank, but due to a toddler related incident the stand saw a little more water damage then I deemed safe. So off to the LFS I went and instead of the 20 long I was originally thinking of, I decided on the Red Sea max nano. It really wasn't a hard decision because I've wanted one of these since they came out, but I did have to go home and measure to make sure it would fit in the spot I wanted (spoiler alert, it sort of doesn't lol). Before placing my order I mentioned it to my other half, he asked how much and I told him to guess, he was pretty close. I was wondering why he was so ok with the price, turns out he wanted some new toys as well...
I'm not sure why he needed another tv and gaming system, but he doesn't understand why I needed another tank. His toys were cheaper, so I'll keep my mouth shut lol. Fast forward a few days and my tank had been delivered to the store. I had to go into work because one of my guys had to leave early, so I waited an agonizing 24 hours before I could pick it up. Turns out @JaimeAdams got to check it out before I did lol.
One terrifying snowstormy drive later I had my precious cargo home safe and sound. I spent the next 3 hours building the stand before calling it a night. That was a week ago and as far as I've gotten because of work. Now that the stand is built and in the spot I want it, I don't like it. It's not the stands fault, it's my couch's, but I've hated that thing for years! I did try one other spot, which is where the dvd stand is. I got some new cabinets for the dvds and was pretty pleased with the outcome,
But the lord of the dvds hated it, so back in the corner it went, at least someone likes it there lol.
Stay tuned because when my heavy lifter gets home from work today the tank is getting unpacked and put on the stand, then the fun starts! In the meantime I am going to return some cabinets and maybe look at couches
