Renton's Evolution from 200 to 440 gallons

Just AMAZING!! Such beautiful and healthy corals.....and with using only LEDs! Props to having such flourishing corals and everything with unbelievable color.....keeping everything happy in a mixed reef is not easy and you seem to be an expert in keeping SPS, LPS, and softies more than happy. LOVE those Bounces

Just picked up a small pair of Ruby Red Dragonets. I had a couple in the past but out of the blue my 6 line wrasse decided they were the enemy. I move the wrasse to the sump.

Congrats on the new pair - LOVE them!

Incredible tank man. I'm in the process of a 300DD build and I bought 6 ai sol blues and after about a month I was doubting how well they could grow and color up SPS but your tank proves my doubts wrong. good work.

A friend of min had a 300 DD, it was the best hobbyist tank I had ever seen, so much room for giant colonies. I am tempted by the Atlantik led fixtures, but I just can't justify buying new lights after the AI sols have doe so well for me. I am setting up a frag tank in the near future and I am torn between getting more AI Sols or going with an Orphek Atlantik.

Goodluck and have fun with the 300DD build!

Amazing tank!! Read through the whole thread tonight. I hope one day to have a tank this nice!!

New bio pellet reactors, so much easier to top off the bio pellets. No more reactor thumb screws!

what kind of sand did you use? I like the look of yours and it seems to be able to take your high flow pretty well

I used CaribSea Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand, it has worked out very well for me.

I wanted more control over the Gyre pumps in my tank so I picked up two Ice Cap Gyre Apex interface modules.

Setup was easy and pretty straight forward. I then got the laptop out and programmed them. I matched up different flow profiles and observed them to make sure they did not result in a wave crashing over the top of the tank.

Each pump varies in intensity and duration throughout the day helping to kick things up and change flow patterns several times a day.

Overall, I am happy with the new flexibility and it was pretty easy to use.
