Rev's 400+ Gallon Basement Inwall

What are your thoughts on flow rate through your sump/fuge/extra tanks? Are you going to run everything straight through with a single return pump, or come up with a combination of manifold/pump(s) to set various flow rates through the different sections?

The plan is a manifold type set up!

Rev, looks like you have the same ATI fixture that I will have on my 125. Got any more pics of how those brackets are made and are you happy with the light mounted that way? I think I would prefer not hanging mine from the ceiling and I have thought of hanging it this way, but did not know if the L brackets would be strong enough to hold up the heavy fixture. Thanks.

I'll get you some photos but the way I did this has been great and sturdy! I got metal pipe from Lowes and a pipe bender tool, lol, and made the bends myself. Then I drilled holes to run the excess wire kit wire down. Installed brackets from lowes to the back of the stand and painted the pipe black. I left the pipe long enough behind the tank so I could attach it via brackets all the way to the floor for added support and to give me the option to raise the lights if I wanted.

In the photo the light is crooked because I was working in the tank and had adjusted one side.

So I'm having a quandary. ;)

There is no drain where the tank room will be or in that area at all. BUT where the tank room will be borders the outside wall and right outside that wall is a gutter drain that goes into the ground under a driveway and out down at the bottom of the hill.

So my questions are this.

1. Would you bust up about 6 feet of basement concrete floor to install a drain?

2. Is there another option? Is there a way to raise the floor of the tank room and install a drain under it and out the same way I mentioned earlier through the gutter drain?

You could cut a small strip of concrete with a concrete saw just large enough for the drain and pipe.
 
You could build a "deck" system in your fish room and put a pump/drain system underneath and have its pump to the outside.

Other option is as mentioned and cut a strip, then lay drain pipe.
