What if you took that shelf rock and switched it with the rock to the lower left of it. A flat cantilever lower to the sand bed won't look so out of place. Maybe throw a small rock on top of it too.

Rev, I love what you did with the scapes on either side. The one on the right is my favorite because it really shows off the depth of you tank. I am more a fan of natural looking scapes, so the center shelf rock does not do it for me either. Maybe if the base rocks beneath it were bigger, you might like it more?

Boss, we all have opinions but the bottom line is this. As long as it meets your coral and flow needs, you are the only one that really has to like it. Because you're the only one with the privilege of getting to see it and enjoy it every day! Just food for thought.

Don't let him off so easy! He has thousands of users on this forum that all want to like his tank. He needs to find a way to satisfy all of us!

That isn't asking too much, is it? I mean we all basically all like our reefs set up exactly the same, right?

So I just spent a little over an hour clicking through 53 pages and the tank isn't even done yet... Facepalm haha!

I agree with others - I think the red brick detracts from the tank. The tank is/should be the focal point of the room. With the red brick I feel like if I were to walk in that room, my eyes would go straight to the red brick and not the tank. My two cents. Otherwise a very ambitious and impressive build, I certainly cannot wait to see more.

All that work on the rock really won't matter when it's all hidden by coral. Just saying ;-)

I'm with Bronc, I love the red brick. The tank won't "pop" as much as it would with a more whitewashed look but it gives it a back alley bar kind of feel. And no, nothing wrong with drinking Yoohoo at a back alley bar!

You can always use red heads and take it lose when you need to move it.

I like the brick also, as was discussed earlier in the thread, putting signs would really tone down the empty brick wall and the tank would become the focal point again. Feng shui

Looking good rev!

My advice to everyone here, not just Rev, is to not get too hung up on the way the bare rock structures look.
You have to imagine them covered in coral and coral of different heights/sizes.

IMO, and only because of the way I like to have coral growing in the tank, I would just add a little more height to one of the structures.
You could even do this by mixing in some branching rock.

But overall I think it looks great!
Tons of swimming room for all kinds of fish and plenty of room on the sand bed for clams, scollys, or smaller rocks for coral you want to isolate from the main rock like encrusting montiporas.

I like the awuascape. The only thing I would change would be the flat rock in the middle. If you have a branching piece that you could put on top it would look great. Give you both depth and not so symmetrical.

Brick, smick.... you put a few amazing angels in that tank, say a Regal, a Queen, and a ......., and I won't even see the wall let alone the brick...just sayin'. You put a Tiger in there and I won't even notice the house, hah hah! But then again I am a fish geek.

Lol thanks everyone! I think the brick wall will take on a whole new look when blue fills that hole and we accent the wall with a little lighting and maybe decor.

The next big question is do you think o can pull this off? This is the project of the day!

You need more weight to use above the tank
