Rev's 400+ Gallon Basement Inwall

Hey guys! Not much to update except that we will be moving in on May 14th and the real planning of the tank can start taking shape!

I did find out that the concrete slab is 6" thick. As a bonus the whole basement has poured concrete walls (no blocks) that are 6" thick and 8" thick at the front wall!

HAHA! Well we will see about that!

I thought I was excited about getting a 100gal Rimless built by Reef Savvy! I couldn't imagine a tank of the size you're going to get!! I emailed Planet Aquariums to try to get a quote for a tank build, and I haven't heard back from them yet. It's been almost a week. I'm wanting a tank that is 60" x 24" x 18" with 1/2" glass, black background and a ghost overflow. Can't wait to see this thread come along! :D

Very cool! FYI they don't sell direct to consumer. You have to get a quote from a local fish store.

Well I don't have to pay for the house all at once that let me make payments! :) Plus the cost of living is low where I am at and houses are not as expensive as many places in the country. Plus the guy I was talking about has a Ferrari! Ha!

Also if I wasn't in the industry I couldn't put together a system like I am talking about. I can get a few deals....;)

It pays to have friends in the industry!

Now all you have to do is set a few thick acrylic panels, epoxy coat the walls and flood the basement. No need for a 360 gallon tank when you could have your own ocean...lol.

Who said I'm getting it direct? LOL!

Hey what are friends for if not to help you acheive your dreams as you help them acheive their's?

You could get it direct but you would have to settle for Acrylic instead of glass..lol.

HA! So true!

Ok so I know I have been all over the place and I'm thinking out loud here but I would like your input on my substrate. I LOVE LOVE LOVE SAND! That being said I have always had a problem keeping it clean over the years even with diligent maintenance. I am considering bare bottom with a few wrasse dens for some sanding sleeping spots.

Thoughts?
