Rev's 400+ Gallon Basement Inwall

Rev, which way does your floor slope? My be good to know in case of a flood.
Whenever I flooded my garage (more times than I care to admit ;) ) it flowed under the garage door and down the driveway. lol

I like my containment idea...I ran 6 inches of tile up the walls, making the room a bowl so to speak in case of flood, door to garage is lowest opening and it's concrete floor...all electrical will be 3+ feet from the floor.

Could add a sump under the sink and a small pump and float valve would pump water into the drain your sink uses I'd assume. Saves a ton of concrete removal....just cut and add a small covered basin.

Not too sure but I am sure I will find out! HA!

You could always come back later with cutting the concrete and installing the drain if you decide you need it.

That's what my wife said too and definitely makes the decision easier!

Problem is waiting till the deciding factor occurs lol...then it might be too late...I just know I've flooded several times and I said heck with that this time.

ATO hose ended up coming loose and rather than pumping water into my tank it instead pumped around 40 gallons of rodi into my floor was the fun one.

I installed a 1/2 bath with sump myself. It's not that hard. Rent a concrete saw, buy some gravel & pvc... then rent a couple migrants for the sledge hammer work, concrete removal and digging the hole for the sump.

Even with the slop sink you're still going to need to pump the water above grade...

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

I picked up some 20g breeders at Petco yesterday in the $1 per gallon sale. I got 4 of them to start for things like QT, Xenia Tank, etc..

Any suggestions on what I might need more tanks for in the fish room and what sizes? I have a sump and refugium covered.

Also what do you guys think about a tank room that has walls like this? :D
