Due to all the Bayer dip I've used I killed off my pod population. I seeded the tank with amphipods today.

My derasa clam has been looking less than 100% the last few days. When I got home tonight all my corals were in full feeding mode and I haven't fed yet. I just noticed the clam is spawning.

My sps are looking better than ever and my growth is increasing so much I'm struggling to adjust my dosing pumps to keep up. I'm hand dosing daily and slowly increasing the time on the dosing pumps.

Clams spawning in captivity is actually a bad thing. They do it when they are stressed.

I'm assuming he got them from Get Your Pods- Live Saltwater Copepods and Amphipods For Sale Live Saltwater Amphipods and Copepods!, I need to get some for my tank as well..

Yeah. The clam is looking a little better the last day or so but it still doesn't look right. The edge of the mantle is curled up and the mouth is curled up some.

Yes I got the pods from getyourpods. They are mostly amphipods so if anyone is looking for straight Copepods this may not be the place to get them. I have a bottle of Copepods coming soon also so hopefully I'll have the tank fully seeded again.

Whoops! I figured a Clam spawning reflected it's health/happiness....my bad. Still learning something new in this hobby every day. Thanks for telling the place you got your pods. I think I'll grab some from them too. If you don't mind, what bottle of copepods you getting? I've never tried getting them in a bottle, just with a order of amphipods. I'm trying to get a good amount of both and feeding to my dwarf seahorses. Thanks!

I ordered a bottle of Algagen Copepods from marine depot. I'll post about it here when I get some in. This is my first time having to ever order pods so I'm not sure what's coming yet. I've read good and bad reviews both.

Getting this tank back where I want! The clam is still stressed and my toadstool is in the frag tank for now but the sps are doing better than ever and that's my main goal. I have several new Acro frags not worth taking a pic of yet, some brownies one bleached. I got them like that they didn't brown or bleach in my tank. I normally would color them up in the frag tank but I figured since I'm starting over with frags I might as well add them and color them up in the display.

The clam is open but with color loss as you noticed and the edges of the mantle are curled up. It closes up fully when I clean the glass, feed or it's bumped by anything. It usually doesn't close up tight ever. I think it spawned again the other day but I didn't actually see it this time. The corals were all feeding and the water was a bit cloudy. The clam was all pulled in.
