Mags are very particular with their environments, new tanks usually don't suit their needs. my tanks 3 years plus and i still wont try a mag in it.
hes going to wander until he's happy. generally the highest point with the best flow. are you feeding the nem as well?

Yeah, giving him a piece of shrimp every 3-4 days. My clowns wont let it eat but figured a way to feed him.

dont know your location but you lfs may carry @ReefFrenzy, its an amazing food for the reef and perfect for feeding anemones, i soak mine in selcon prior to feeding.
i've attached a photo of my BTA's as well

you should try it. at the very least it will give the nem the nutrients it needs.

Im using a set of nut.s from reeflowers. Are they enough? If not i will ask my lfs.

reefahholic is a great resource. Mine would never had made it without his help.

@Shyaion , dosing will not be enough. i feed my tank twice a day (but have far more livestock than you)
i would pickup some reef frenzy nano personally.
i'm more than happy to help you along the way don't ever hesitate to tag me if you need help i check daily multiple times

Here's what i do. When I want to target my nem I will have a piece of shrimp, mussel, squid etc ready to go. I will then put in some food like cyclo-eze in the tank- all my inhabitants go nuts. Then target feed my nem. My clowns are too busy eating the cyclops that they don't notice or care about the nems food and the nem can eat in peace.

What light is that? Seems a bit weak to me for a nem. I hope it does well but that livestock list with the age of the tank is asking for trouble.

The thing to really watch out for with the magnifica (not ritteri) is the inflate-deflate cycles. A healthy mag should never deflate. When they are sick, they can look great for much of the day then in the late afternoon they'll completely deflate and look like a withered pancake. Too much of this and no amount of antibiotic treatment will help. I would also suggest that these anemones don't need to be target fed. A good strong light source and a bit of incidental food is more than enough. I made the mistake of feeding my last mag and it got to be a full 2' across and I had to find a new home for it.

My last three mags - 1997-2009; 2013-2015; 2016 -

Mag update, he seems better everyday but i think his tentacles are few. Dunno why. He seems healthy though. And i asked my lps about my light and they said my led units are enough.

The oval disc seems to have lesser tentacles from the other nems ive seen.?

Tried a new lighting, now using 24W X 4 T5 with 2 sunlight and 2 aqua blue lights. Nemmy is right now looks great. Maybe ill use both of the leds and t5. Dunno if lots of light may disturb the nemmy.
